Pulley Dust Cover Easy Install

Took a stock Chrysler dust cover, spent about 10 minutes sanding it, flipping it over and testing the install. Worked great. This can also be done with an angle grinder. Otherwise it's perfect and half the price of the parts. One star off because you had to cut the shoe. You should repair it and include a new one that fits.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Expensive

Belt didn't fit part

Work kit like 2003 Jeep TJ w/4.0L. The idle bushing did not fit the existing idle bolt and washer. I had to buy a new washer for a new pulley. The belt didn't fit at all. I had to buy a new belt. But the belt tensioner works fine. I would not recommend this kit for a 2003 Jeep Wrangler with a 4 liter engine. to a good deal if more than half of the parts don't fit.

Pros
  • That's awesome
Cons
  • Security

Easy repair, perfect fit, cheaper than a mechanic

My tensioner got stuck on the freeway and broke the belt, leaving me at a loss. I ordered this, it arrived quickly and took about 20 minutes. It worked great and was a cheap repair. Better spend a few hundred at the mechanic. I decided it was time to change the pulleys so I'm hoping to live with my Cherokee 04 that has 240,000 miles on it for a few more years.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • A few minor things

Fits well on 2005 Jeep TJ

Fits and works but quality won't be known for a few years. For those having problems with the idler pulley, you'll need to discard the original dust cover (giant pulley thingy) because the instructions say the new idler pulley doesn't need a dust cover. I like the idea of one person simply replacing the bearing in the old pulley with the bearing in the new pulley. If this doesn't last long I'll be sure to add an additional charge for OEM Mopar. For now. we are ready to go

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • No instructions

The parts fit my Jeep TJ, the tensioner is annoying

The parts worked great and fit my 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ/LJ, but the idler pulley is a slightly different style of hub which prevented me from using the old pulley's dust cap washer. I had to fold another washer and the wing washer from the parts basket to cover the overhanging bearing. I travel off-road and mess up the engine a lot, so I often pressurize the engine bay, and exposed bearings are a no-go. That annoying point aside, the parts appear to be of good quality and the strap feels great.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • No Performance

The idler pulley and idler pulley were of good quality.

Mech. The idler pulley and idler pulley were good quality and fitted perfectly, but the included strap was about Β½ inch too long for my application and was causing slippage. I checked the fit using Amazon's reference tool, so I'm not sure if it's an Amazon or Gates strap issue. Anyway, the belt is useless to me and since it comes with the kit it's all or nothing. Now that the idler pulley and idler pulley are installed I will consider this a lesson learned as I am not interested in returning…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Secret

Please read I really wanted to give this

. My problem is the supplied pulley or more specifically the supplied bushing. This is supposed to be a "complete kit" for the Wrangler Tj. This pulley uses a spacer located above the tensioner pulley and to the right of the alternator. This spacer is also a bushing, it is not as wide as the stock bearing or the bearing in this kit. However, if you use the included bushing, the pulley will move about 1/4 inch after installation. If you don't use a bushing (I don't have) you will need a washer…

Pros
  • 5 stars. Lots of positive vibes.
Cons
  • . Fits
