Great for 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5i

Great for 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited with about 120,000 miles in the Northeast. If you are working on your cooling system specifically for the 2011 Outback H4, you will need to check the fourth digit of your VIN to see if you can use the TCK304 Water Pump Kit. If it's a "G" you can use this kit, but if it's a "B" you need to order the Gates 42274 water pump separately. It's always a good idea to replace the water pump with this one. If you have a mechanic on site to service your car when…

The parts are NOT made in Japan as advertised.

All parts needed for the service came in a box, properly packed. Unfortunately the sloths are not made in Japan as stated on the outer box, they are all marked as China meaning they were made in Japan at most, but I find that unlikely. The tensioner is unmarked down to the bearing and the tensioner frame is significantly less robust than the OEM tensioner. In addition, some of the parts showed signs of wear that appeared as if they had already been installed and used on another vehicle…

Worst car parts I've bought in a long time

Worst car parts I've bought in a long time. Once a respected parts manufacturer, Gates is now a laughing stock. The tensioner failed instantly and didn't hold the belt under tension, causing the engine to jump instantly on startup, bending two valves and costing my shop nearly $1,000 in parts and labor. I will never again install another Gates product or allow it in my shop. I recommend the Continental belt with OEM Subaru tensioners and pulleys. Not to mention that their "guarantee" claim…

.Transmission Bearing (usually NSK) made in China

Great kit for the price. However, while the label on the box indicated that each intermediate bearing (by part number) was made in Japan, Taide's toothed bearing (usually NSK) was made in China and stamped with the Gates logo. While I'm sure it will work fine, I don't trust a Chinese bearing when everything else in the kit (other than the timing belt itself) is OEM. The Taide bearing has a matte black tooth finish, while the NSK bearing has a mirror finish. Since I was able to buy an OEM NSK…
