The best Nissan 3.3 timing belt kit is "GATES "

There are alignment lines on the belt to make this job easier. Replace the water pump while you're there. I had the idler pulley spring separately so make sure you get it and replace it. A water pump seal was included.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Disappears

but not that bad. The Gates belt has alignment marks that line up.

It hurts a little but not much. The Gates strap has alignment marks that perfectly match my 2002 Nissan Frontier Crew's cockpit. There was a problem with the water pump seal, I had to replace the first one although I'm pretty sure it was my fault the first time. Has been running for a few months now with no problems! Be sure to use the spring from the old tensioner or buy a new one! Without tension spring!

  • Quality assembly
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Fits my 2002 Xterra for timing belt kits

It's not the most difficult of tasks, but you want to make sure you get it right. All components in the kit fit like OEM. The markings on the belt were accurate. Once there, grab the crank seal and it's time to replace the radiator hoses as well as the heater bypass hose. Don't forget to replace the thermostat while you're there and new V-belts would be a good idea too. Mine only cost 70,000 but is 18 years overdue. Now I'm fine until I've done 170,000 miles!

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Low repairability

Good price, parts of more than acceptable quality.

Well known brand, good quality parts. Making a water pump and timing belt for a Nissan VG33E can be quite a PITA job (be prepared to rip it all up), but it's better than blowing up your own timing belt and smashing up your valve train. This kit does NOT include a new tension spring. Although I wasn't thrilled with it, I ordered another one for about $8. In the end, not a bad deal. Hello, this is Gates. It doesn't look like a fake brand. You can get a lot worse for that money.

2001 Xterra SE - Water pump failed after 2 months

Timing belt and water pump bought in July. The water pump was not needed, but the auto repair shop offered to replace it, as well as the timing belt since they were already there. Bought this kit. The dealership has a good reputation and has been operating in the same place for over 50 years. After 2 months of use the water pump is making a horrible squeaking noise and the antifreeze is pouring out as fast as you can put it in. No warranty help here, they said Revain is not an authorized dealer

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Works as advertised. on 01 Xterra

Bought the kit on May 5th, installed it on my 2001 Xterra which I just picked up and appears to be with the original belt. The set was of good quality and fit exactly as expected. When installing, make sure all bolts are tight and belt tension is correct. Since I don't seem to have blown mine yet, I think I did the right thing. Be sure to take some RTV to seal the water pump and take a harmonic balancer puller to properly remove the crankshaft pulley. Also, the included instructions are for the

Almost 5 stars. damaged seal; Read the review.

I would give this part 5 stars but how the water pump seal is packaged. It was just clear plastic that was thrown into a box big enough to hold all the parts and that box was placed in the big box. Needless to say the gasket was wrinkled and damaged from allowing the water pump to hang in the box. anything could be done to protect him. It could be placed between sheets of cardboard, taped to the outside of the inner box, and placed in a padded envelope. Replacing the water pump on a firstโ€ฆ

Pros

  • Out of fashion
