GemRed Aluminium Digital Angle Finder Review

I love this little goniometer. Holds securely at the right angle. I use it for painting to find just the right angles, finding the angles, and use it a few times in the workshop to make sure the blade is set at the right angle.

I took this to measure an odd angle. It has an on/off function and a zero calibration button. Easy to use. It would be nice if it was in a plastic sleeve. Anyway, I just kept the box it came in. I'll probably get a longer one from the same company.

After battery replacement and then battery replacement again. I checked with my multimeter and it looked like the unit couldn't get battery power so I flipped it over and unscrewed it and lowered it and lo and behold the battery contact was badly damaged. Very cheap build quality. A lot. It's like he can't do a job at all. Probably one of the worst and most annoying things I've ever paid for.

I originally bought this to help me install moldings in my dining room (and it was my first experience of this type of carpentry!). No house has true 90 degree corners, and as the house ages, the corners get even more complicated. With this tool you can directly measure the angle on corner pieces and get a really polished end result. Simple, user-friendly, accurate and inexpensive.

This is the best digital protractor for the price I have ever used. This is accurate after zeroing - it was extremely accurate for half a degree increments, which is the smallest I need. This is repeated, going back and forth 90 degrees several times, reading 90 degrees each time. The pull/friction knob works well. Also, it doesn't eat up batteries when it's turned off like some of those digital sensors do. Very happy with it for the price!

It's important to note that this is a protractor, not a protractor. No winged creatures come out of the box to tend to your other tools and workspace. Don't expect miracles, again, this is not an angel seeker. While your angles are more accurate, your cutting methods can still suck. Nice little design. Very conveniently stowed on my magnetic strip. Happy with the purchase.

It was right out of the box. I placed it on the new frame square and read 90.0 inside and outside the frame. I needed to add filler to the top of my newly renovated kitchen cabinets, which cut the cabinets to the ceiling. Since I had a corner cabinet, I needed something to give me the exact angle between the cabinets. I then split the angle in half and this gave me fine adjustment of the miter saw. This angled viewfinder seems to work well but I can't give it 5 stars. I ordered the product on Friday and it arrived on Saturday. I tested it immediately and was surprised that there was no battery in the box. I turned it on and the display was blank. I opened the battery compartment and there was already a battery in there. When I insert the battery, the LED only shows 888.8. Using the zero or power buttons does nothing. Put the battery back in, put the battery in the wrong way round, turn the ruler at an angle - nothing works. Also bought a new battery, thinking the one that came with it was dead. To no avail. I've had it for over 30 days so I can't go back through Revain. I just emailed the company and will update this review based on the results.
