This item is a fairly thick piece of metal with a number of holes. I say pretty thick, I mean if I grab it with my thumb and forefinger and throw it it stays hard. I mean what do you want? I could take my micro caliper and tell you how thick it is, but what you really want to know is if it's firm and strong. He doesn't speak. It leaves a mark when you hit someone with it. Pros: Good size, good quality stainless steel, engraved markings in black, easy to read and impossible to erase, relatively inexpensive. bad: I had to drill every fourth hole because it was too small. Now let's be clear, I didn't break out the micrometers and I didn't measure these holes. What I did was try at least 2 and sometimes 3 or more drill bits of the specified size in each hole. This is much quicker than using digital calipers to determine drill diameters and I was looking forward to using them in place of my calipers.
