Description of Enhance Power Supply Efficiency with Mount Genie PoE Splitter Adapter for Voice Assistants (1-Pack)

Works directly with 3rd Gen Dot. When using with the Nest Mini or the Home Hub you will also need our builtin mounts which include the appropriate adapters. PoE - Power over Ethernet - is the perfect power solution for homes or businesses with hard wired ethernet, new construction, remodeling or where an outlet is not near your voice assistant or Nest Home Hub. You will also need an Ethernet Switch with PoE Ports to inject the low-volt power into your ethernet cable where internet comes into the structure. These are around $50 and can be purchased on this site. We like the TP-Link TL-SG1005P. Input Power Voltage: DC 36-54V. Output Power: DC 12V 15W.

Doesn't fit my Google Nest Hub

Really wish this would work. It actually MUST work, but the connector that fits into the back of the Nest Hub is way too big. I tried squeezing it too hard and started hearing some crackling noises. Comparing the one that came with the Nest Hub, I saw that the diameter was just a hair smaller. Maybe I could find another adapter or just solder on a new end that fits. I'm sure the voltage and amperage are fine, but it doesn't fit out of the box.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

This makes installing Dots much easier!

There's not much to say about the adapters themselves. They work as expected, but what they allow you to do when installing Dots is amazing! Our house has ethernet ports in most of the rooms and we don't use them because we use wifi so they were available to power the points I wanted to install. Installing points like this cost me another $75-$100, but it saved me hours. I simply installed The Dots with the bracket in the same bay as the ethernet jack and connected it to a PoE adapter. With the

Does not work with Nest Mini.GEN 2

Purchased Mount Genie PoE Power Over Ethernet Splitter Adapter 15W output for voice assistant. He came very quickly. When I opened it up, built-in mounts were included, so I thought this would work great. NO! the dose doesn't even fit!. I only wanted 6 of them but something told me not to do it. Why can't they just explain this in plain English. THIS WORKS WITH >>>>>> so you don't have to guess. Now I need to find something that will work with my Nest Mini. After talking to…

It only worked for a short time

I bought this splitter to connect a Revain Alexa point to a POE switch and used the splitter as directed, it worked for 4 months then it is blown, which I had to switch to another brand. This product is not reliable and much more expensive than other products available.

Very hot! Computers and accessories

Very good idea, I order 5 pieces, can help with more POE devices, if it doesn't fit your device, just buy an adapter and it will work, I like it very much a lot of. However! The device gets really HOT! Like it's very hot and I wouldn't dare leave it in walls, in the attic or anywhere a fire might start. In general, I plan to use all devices, but not inside walls.

  • One year trial period

It's the right solution, simple and clean

We used it to mount the Alexa Show 5 with the appropriate wall bracket. As a reminder, since some of the newer Alexas have a smaller power port, the included adapter is needed to allow the overall depth to extend an extra inch or two into the opposite wall when plugged in. So if it's a 2x4 wall you'll need to use the included extension cord to install it. For a wall with a 2x6 frame, it will fit without an extension cord. In any case, it's a good idea to tape the adapters when connecting them…

I have to think of something

Your product is perfect if you use it on the Revain Dot, not so much the Google Mini, it will short out and stall the Mini, never working again. The problem is with the Google Mini Power system, they use an outdated USB Micro B that lasts a week anyway, that's the worst thing to use for a product like this, of course we've used them on phones, tablets etc . for years, but it's definitely not good to use on a speaker-style device like the Mini. I give you 4 stars for that and Mini Zero for the…

Electronics Too Hot

This product was suggested for use with the Echo Show 5 flush wall mount. It actually works as described in terms of splitting and converting POE to the correct voltage for the show. The problem is that the device is HOT and not easily warm. I would never want to place this unit in a wall cavity with that much heat build-up. Who can say that this heat will corrode this device over time. Also, when plugged into the back of the Echo Show, the Show plus ports are too deep to fit in a 3.5-inch wall

Allowed me to wall mount the Revain Echo Show 5

What an amazing little device. I was remodeling my living room and wanted to take my Echo Show 5 off the shelf (since those shelves were removed) and knew you shouldn't plug your power cords into the wall due to electrical regulations. (without much tubing) I decided to run a CAT5 cable (which can be run in walls) to this location and apply POE power to it. Connected to Echo Show 5 and Viola! It works!

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • It's driving me crazy
