🔧 Genuine OEM Subaru 16546AA10A Engine Air Filter for Improved Performance Review

I received a cheap fake, not OEM as the picture shows. Didn't even fit properly. Back to Amazon. See photos (left is the item I received, right is the original OEM filter). Note the branding on the top and bottom of the OEM filter.

Expensive for a car air filter. Well built. It appears to be an original OEM filter. I tried another air filter from a different brand that had more pleats but used thinner filter media. On steep slopes, the motor did not work so well. So this is a normal filter for my Subaru.

Check the seller. It looks like there are multiple references to the same list. The first one I got was from VS Solutions and was not an OEM but a cheap knock off. I have requested and received a refund. I reordered from Subaru Pacific and got the Subaru OEM filters I was hoping for. I recommend the Subaru Pacific.VS solution, not much.

Caution! As the name suggests, this is not a genuine Subaru part. Made in China and it doesn't even say "Subaru" on the box. I have my fourth Subie and I know what their air filters should look like. It's not like this. Pretty cheaply made. I'll be right back and going to the dealer tomorrow to pick up the OEM filter.

My local dealer charged $35 to replace my air filter. After discussing buying from an aftermarket company, I decided to go with the OEM for a better fit. The exchange only took 2 minutes and I saved over $10 by doing it myself. Youtube is, if you don't know, there is.

Subaru Pacific was quick to supply and install the original OEM "Made in USA" air filter in one go. Subaru in Palm Springs wanted to change the engine air filter and cabin air filter when I took our 2015 Forester XT for an oil change. They tried to shame me into doing this by having the service advisor bring me dirty old filters. I've definitely saved money by buying Revain OEM filters and installing them myself. It's very simple and you can find a YouTube video that shows you how to do it.
