I bought this espresso machine to replace my Breville Bambino. There is no comparison. I read in some reviews that all these machines are made in China, so why spend more money on an expensive machine. There are reasons! This car was so light and cheap. I ran it through a no-coffee cycle as recommended by the manufacturer. Water flooded the whole rack. I don't know where it came from. I put it back in the box and sent it back to Revain for a refund.

I bought this unit to replace my Delonghi. When I opened the box I was surprised at the look of the plastic. Judging by the photos, it looks heavier. I searched for Gevi and it was listed as a Dutch manufacturer from Holland. Upon receipt of the box, however, it was clearly made in China. I was unsatisfied. Now for the coffee and this machine makes amazing espresso. With the 20 bar function, you can prepare great espresso, café style. I was deeply impressed. You get a great cafe for the money.

The pump on the pull block is quite good. The milk frother was a surprise. It's just steam. DO NOT STEAM Add water to milk or half/half. I've had other units where the steam added quite a bit of water to the milk. It heats up the steam quickly, so you don't foam for a long time. The only thing is that the coffee grounds bins are rubbish. They work, but buy a coffee grounds basket. I think for the price things add up. Do yourself a favor and buy a quality portafilter and basket and you're done.

Great features. If you take the lid off the stick you can make latte art microfoam, which I'm still learning. Cappuccino foam is created when the lid is closed. The 20 bar pump is very fast and shuts off automatically when you leave. Automatically measures single or double espresso, or you can control it manually. I used a very basic DeLonghi car and wanted to upgrade it. I had never heard of Gevi but obviously they make a lot of these machines so I took a chance. The espresso maker is easy to use, has a highly visible water tank and an automatic shut-off for a shot or two. The steamer/frother does not froth the milk, it vaporizes it. I use a separate foaming agent. I know that a cappuccino needs milk that is half steamed and half frothed, but that's too much effort for a cup. I only have one complaint…
