Works well. to knife sharpener

No problems with this sharpener. Knives are sharp. We are careful and do not use violence. Used on several knife brands including Globals.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Almost never

Good product! good for cutlery and knife accessories

Excellent sharpener. restored the blade of two of my Global chef's knives. Be sure to follow the instructions. When they say light pressure, they mean light pressure. Some write that the sharpener scratched the sides of their knives. When used properly, the stones should only come in contact with the edge of the blade.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • There are problems

My favorite, gave me one

Having invested in quality knives, having a quality sharpener seemed like an easy task. Unlike my old Chef's Choice electric sharpener, the knife doesn't scrape, scrape or mar when sharpening. It's so easy to use that I carry it with my knives and always start with a razor sharp edge, which I find much safer than piercing food with a dull knife.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Nothing here

Easiest way I've found to sharpen my Asian knives! Reliable.

I have used this sharpener for a long time to sharpen all of my Asian knives and when finished they all cut through paper and food that was meant to be cut, shredded or sliced with ease. A very simple and clean way to get the job done without having to deal with the wood and other materials needed to use it. Even a small paring knife cuts through meat like butter after driving the Minosharp Plus 3 and it was the most neglected set.

Pros
  • Sequins

My knives will now shave and make onions cry!

I like the product and the concept. When I first tried using a sharpener, I didn't get very good results. I applied too little pressure and pulled the knives instead of pulling and pushing. I found a demo video that was very helpful. In the video, a very nice Japanese chef demonstrates a two-stage sharpener. The principle is the same as with the three-stage sharpener. The knives I've sharpened cut paper and shave. I'm not a professional chef, so that's enough for me.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Works well. in Cutlery and accessories for knives

I bought a set of knives Global many years ago. I stopped using them because they were becoming dull and I needed a 'special' sharpener that I had to buy. Over 10 years later I bought this sharpener and it worked great bringing my knives back to good sharpness. Also the angle of the sharpening wheels and the way the knife comes into contact with them makes me not sure if my movements need to be like this to get the best sharpening. Over time, observing how the knife works should help me. Iโ€ฆ

Pros

Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Brilliant design. Well made, albeit made of plastic. Suitable for beginners or experts. Take off in the wind. I have found that I use this more and my sharpener a little less; not that I would get rid of one or the other. They fit and are designed for Japanese style knives and your European wedges are unlikely to be happy with this device. The angle of the whetstones is wrong on many European-style knives. ****Update 2 years later: I have noticed that even with the utmost care these stonesโ€ฆ
