while it works fine.

Just received and installed today in the basement shower room. I believe this basement shower drain was built without a siphon, so it's a direct outlet from under the shower pan to the ejector pump/tank. Because of this I sometimes get some drain flies in the bathroom and it drives me crazy. Based on the limited testing I've done, it's showing great promise so far (just cranked the shower on full blast and watched a few times). video attached. I'll update the review after I've actually showered

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Modern

This waterless odor trap is very easy to install in a 4 inch pipe. Just make sure you got the right size and paste it now. Installation takes less than a minute. The apartment building has a drain in the utility room. I used to have a sewer but I couldn't figure out where the smell in the room was coming from. Spoke to a plumber who said he couldn't help me as it wasn't a plastic pipe to connect to. Another plumber wanted $350 to try and fix it. Finally found this product and I am delighted…

Works great - easy to install

Works very well. Installation is incredibly easy - just plug it into the drainpipe. The rubber flexes to allow easy sliding into a 2" drain pipe, but it seems to seal the pipe perfectly. Another reviewer said he has to take it off and clean it every 2-3 weeks - makes no sense. for a drain that is rarely used (I put this in a drain on my laundry floor that doesn't leak except in the event of a burst pipe or other rare problem.) Do not use this for your main shower which is used daily, it is not…

Green drain 4 inches. Seal for waterless siphon-69040

I just bought 6 more of these for my second home. I installed 3 in my other house 3 years ago so this review is a long term review. This is a great product that does what it is advertised to do. They prevent air and fumes from escaping from your drains. They completely transformed my basement, which stank of rotten drains and flies. They fixed my problems 100%. After 3 years, a lot of dirt and particles have accumulated on it. I try to douse them with clean water regularly to keep the seal…

Good solution for sewage gas problems

These drains; while expensive; do what they say they do; They effectively stop sewer gases. Ease of installation is a relative term; while in Mexico we had to chip the concrete off a sloppy shower stall drain so we could even measure the size of the drain pipe before ordering. Proper measurement of the inside diameter (ID) of the tubing is critical before ordering. Be sure to check the green drain size range by OD for each unit you wish to order. Another 4" green drain installed; I had to…

Next 6 months,

For 6 months the drain valve worked quite well, slowed the flow a bit but kept up with the wide open shower. Gone smelling like sewer gas. Coming home after a two-week vacation, there was the smell of sewage! The drain has slowed, causing the water to stagnate two to three minutes after the shower ends. Took it to see and clean it of minimal debris, replace and still do it as slowly as possible. ILLUSION. I hesitated to buy because of the reviews. Our laundry room with shower/toilet smelled of…
