They are better than the Vice Grip brand

Vice Grips makes such lousy adjustable pliers that I paid way more for them. They are better than the Vice Grip brand. I don't know if they are much better for the price though.

Pros
  • Best in their niche
Cons
  • Some little things

One piece lock pliers

Haven't used them much but so far so good. Strong grip, very smooth action, large solid molars and a very smooth trigger. No pops or jumps. Previously used to hold drywall in place during repairs; good handy tool.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Big and bulky

I don't necessarily agree with all the good reviews here

I don't necessarily agree with all the good reviews here. The pliers sent to me could have been processed a little better. The knurled screw doesn't turn very smoothly and the hinges have little play. I give them 3 stars because there is nothing extraordinary about them.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Some issues

Very good locking pliers tool.

For most uses to medium projects these grip-on pliers work very well. The pliers are made in Spain and are a step ahead of many other locking pliers. The curved handle design is designed for gripping round objects such as fittings, pipes or cables. The release plane is solid and well integrated into the body of the pliers. The orange color makes these pliers easy to find.

Pros
  • Enjoy
Cons
  • Damaged

Look no further for modern locking pliers

What can I say about these locking pliers from Spain? You are fantastic. I am a confirmed drug addict. Mechanical work is tedious enough without a cheap tool in your hands. Don't even think about the IRWIN Tools VISE-GRIP Locking Pliers, Quick Release, Curved Jaws, 10" (11T), they're a whole lot better. If you can find a Petersen Vise at a flea market or trade-in, grab it. Else. Grip-On is what you need.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Nothing here

Received today. Unfortunately the packaging was damaged which gives some information I wasn't expecting. I will be honest and consider. The damage was cosmetic and since it was due to shipping and packaging, no star deduction for that. What follows appears to be related to factory quality issues, not delivery. Functionally, it's not as fancy compared to the 10" Knipex. Rivets and press fittings don't have the same high-quality fit and finish as Knipex - these grip-ons have 1 rivet with a raised

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Bad thumbscrew, otherwise good

As many other people have said, the wing nut is very difficult to turn even after oiling and unscrewing. This part of these pliers appears to be very poorly designed as the screw is in the weld. The orange paint has scratches in some places, which bothers me a bit because of rust, but smearing with oil helped me avoid problems. Otherwise these pliers work well and the trigger mechanism is easy enough to operate even with very tight pliers. The handle is designed well enough to be comfortable to

Pros
  • FORGED JAWS: Modified tooth profile for more strength and durability
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Read more on the tool blog. (toolguyd, great site) They come off much smoother than a regular vise when you pull the lever back to open them. You squeeze the extended lever and they open smoothly. A big improvement when you're hard on something. The bad news is that the threaded set screw appears to be sand filled. It's just poor quality as you would expect from port freight, not quality tools. I disassembled it, oiled the threads and ran it a few times and now it's just . . . cheesy. Maybe itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • MADE IN SPANISH: High quality materials for an extremely durable tool
Cons
  • Non automatic

Not worth the extra money.

I am very disappointed in this product. After doing a little research and giving up on the real Vise Grip brand (because people said they weren't well made anymore), I spent the extra money and bought the Grip-On brand. I've only used them once (I had a snapped screw I was trying to get out of a piece of wood) and the Grip-On let me down. The teeth of the tongs appear to be made of soft metal, and within seconds they were twisted and chewed. I then turned to the Channellock pliers, which worked

Pros
  • THREAD SCREW: for easy changing of jaw size
Cons
  • Slightly torn
