When force is applied, the leash not only tightens around the object to which it is attached, but after being pulled as tight as possible, the jaws tighten. The hand grip is a brilliant invention! We have 2 inflatable SUP boards so we bought an anchor and a brush grip. Anchor is cool when you're in the middle of a lake, but if you're looking for a quick and easy way to hold on to something then this is the product for you. The camouflage is actually a flat olive gray and I think the paracord cable is camouflage too. It stops by rivers and along mangrove banks in salt flats for about a month. Sturdy, works well. The paracord setup is a loop around the inner handles of the tensioner and jaw section so the tension squeezes the jaws together. which in turn leaves the paracord line hanging slightly awkwardly from jaw to jaw when open.
