Something you don't really need for a review. This is one of those devices. I have ksger t12 hardware and this is holding up well. Good condition and no complaints.
I like this stand and it does the job. My problem is that the golden bowl doesn't fit snugly in the base so it wobbles annoyingly when I use it. There has to be some kind of rubber pad to keep it stable. In the end I glued it.
This is by far the best iron stand I have ever used. The rectangular case has a retaining bar that holds it in the middle. A nice feature as it keeps the heated parts of the iron hidden so you don't accidentally touch them. The weight of the base is also good, it will not fall off. There is no solder tab so the bits fall on the Hakko label. Besides, the metal cleaning dome is not attached to the base and sometimes falls out. I glued it.
This is a well built, sturdy soldering iron holder. It has a decent weight, which is very good. My main complaint is that it doesn't fit more soldering irons. I ended up replacing my soldering iron with a matching Hakko model. I'm sure some other brands will fit if you're lucky, but not all. Maybe Hakko did this on purpose as it seems to me that it would have worked with almost any iron if they didn't just put a plastic ring in the hole in the holder. Using plastic seems like a bad choice, but…
you get what you pay for. I used the cheap crappy soldering iron holder that comes with the hobbyist soldering kits you see on this page. And I have burn marks on my desk to prove it. There are no more burn marks. This piece is strong, easy to use, heavy weight and comes with a spare 599B tip cleaner. If you just have a custom iron (rather than a whole repair station) then this is for you. I have not used any of these similarly styled unbranded holders, but I am a firm believer in the "you get…
This is a very good soldering stand. The base is quite heavy so it hardly moves on the table. One complaint is that for my particular setup, the stand could have used some sort of handle to allow it to be moved easily without touching the hot metal cage. The included 599B tip cleaner works great. Contrary to some reviewers, I found it larger and not smaller than I expected. It could fit closer to the base of the stand, but that's enough. I've used the wet-sponge method to clean my tips for…
