Good start with

Taught me all the basics. Being left handed I had to start all over again but I was able to finish the first ring, picot and chain. It's a bit uneven and one-sided, but I'm still proud!

Great instructions and photos

I've been trying to learn how to tattoo with a needle and shuttle and I'm definitely a visual learner who prefers to learn by watching someone else rather than written ones to read instructions. This textbook has to be one of the best versions for beginners, not only because of the written instructions, but more importantly because of the accompanying illustrations. I was able to follow these instructions very well.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Learn to tattoo step by step

Learn to tattoo step by step - great book - detailed written instructions, clear and helpful illustrations. I'm relatively new to tatting and didn't know how to use the shuttle tatting pattern in tatting. Thanks to the way it is explained in the book, it was very easy for me to take the shuttle tatting pattern and do it with a needle. The book also includes instructions for two-tone tatting, and these instructions are easy to follow. Overall this is a great book!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No work

Excellent Book for Learning Tatting

If you want to learn how to tatch, this book is a must. I tried shuttles, but being a needle knitter felt more natural. Of course there are great videos on Youtube (Rusti Kate) but this book always lies in my lap when I'm trying to make other patterns. But for now, since I've only been self-taught for a few weeks, I'll stick to the templates in the book. A few days ago I made my first locket! Handy Hands' website has everything you need to get started, but you can't wait to get started until…
