I'm an engineer and I really appreciate great design. This thing was designed by an engineer - simple, elegant, flexible. And inexpensive. Using stud nails instead of studs means you can position it anywhere (not just where there are studs behind the wall). BUT EVEN the tiny nails leave almost no traces on the wall. This product is extremely easy to install even in almost any type of wall as it distributes the weight very well. This works in my opinion in drywall or plaster. I double checked the position by sliding the included bubble level along the wall and started by inserting a nail into the center and then carefully inserting a bubble level from one end.
