🧪 Hanna Combo pH/EC/TDS/C/PPM Tester HI98129: Reliable and Efficient Multi-Parameter Testing Solution Review

Hanna customer service doesn't exist. I ignored all attempts to contact her. I've gone through two of these pens. Both gave intermittent readings and knocked me out shortly after changing the pH sensors. I switched to the Blue Labs ph and ppm knobs. They are leaps and bounds ahead of Hanna in terms of ease of use and customer service.

This one has few competitors. But it has a big advantage: 1. Fully submersible2. very accurate, pH, TDS, Temp.3. easy to move 4. easy to store 5. The pH lamps on all meters break from time to time - all use glass pH lamps but this model has a very easy to replace pH part with a replaceable lamp. So here's the big thing - you don't have to keep buying another one. 6. Sorry, but most importantly, pH is accurately measured in 0.1 increments. Cheaper testers only get level 1.0. After receiving this product, I tested it for about an hour and quickly decided to return it (mainly because it was defective, didn't give me a ppm reading.). Ok this is the second Hanna combo pen I have. I have been professionally involved in hydroponics for over ten years. I believe this is one of the best all in one pens you can get. After that has been said. I had to send my first one back as it didn't work at all! They couldn't even calibrate it. Returning it was very easy and Amazon sent a replacement quickly. So far so good with the replacement, although I still suspect it's not a genuine Hanna pen and may be a fake. I intend to contact Hannah

I would give 3-4 stars if it was about half the price. I calibrated it with Hanna's solutions according to the instructions. The pH was slightly above 1.2. I calibrated it and then the calibration solutions differed by 0.05, so I calibrated again and it got worse. There was no cross-contamination of the solutions, and the temperature readings differed by 3 degrees when compared to the always-exact digital and mercury thermometers. TDS is everywhere. Very expensive and difficult to calibrate PH side. Now I only use this probe to read TDS/EC and temperature. The PH tip was such a problem that I bought a special PH meter just for that measurement. First, you need to store the tip in a PH storage solution. The solution will eventually evaporate even with the lid on, so be prepared to keep buying bottles of solution for storage. Worst purchase I have ever made. I'm new to hydroponics and thought it would be better to pay more for this counter.
