Thick, easy to cut/shape/sew. Made a removable insulating lid so my pellet grill can be smoked or grilled in cold weather. Also bought some earth magnets from Amazon to hold in place while in use.

I use these as a work mat to avoid damaging delicate surfaces when working on projects around the boat. That works great. It's thick enough to provide some cushioning for the underlying surface and I don't have to worry about putting a flashlight or soldering iron on it. It also seems to be taking a while. I also use it to catch chips when drilling or grinding anything which makes cleaning easier. Just be careful which side you use for chips and always keep that side up.

I purchased this material and made a product to coat the side pipes of my hot rod so no one gets burned getting in or out. I researched many different ideas and I'm glad I found this product. I attached poles at opposite ends to add structure and weight. They easily attach to tubes when needed, then roll up and store next to the seat for next use. Once the material is in place, you can put your hand (or foot) on the hot pipes for a short time without burning yourself.

It's good but not great, after using it to cook the steaks in the picture above I removed the stove and put my hand on where it was, it was quite hot I don't think that it is meant for this application but i think it could work better. I purchased this sweat blanket specifically to use as a blanket on my 34" Traeger grill to increase maximum heat. The 3x3 sizing fits perfectly, from the edge of the handle all the way around to the nice gradient down the back of the grill and past the middle. In 44 degree weather, this increased my max temp by 40+ degrees and reduced the temp variance to 7 degrees (from about 20 degrees with no blanket). If you are looking for a replacement for a heat resistant cotton hand warmer this material works great and is the cheapest option I have found. For my "pocket" hand warmer, 12" x 12" material is enough to fix at least 4-5 of these, maybe more. up". Tried without tearing and such. They consume less material, and I think that filling the fuel tank more evenly leads to more stable heating. If you do it right, you can remove 4-5 layers or more, as a result what you end up with is a piece of black…
