The price was perfect too as if she would ever break it

Ordered this for my elderly mother. She sometimes has trouble viewing cans. I was considering getting a different style that gives you more leverage to turn, but it seemed a little more unwieldy than this style. The price was also perfect as if she ever breaks it I can just order another one for a very small amount. Turns out she loves it and has told me several times how well it works. Mom definitely approved the purchase.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

I love them for breaking the seal on cans!

It's great. Someone got me one at my wedding and I thought it was the worst bottle opener until I discovered it was for glasses. I had this old one (missing parts due to stupid attempt to use it on bottles) for 16 years and finally decided to replace it. This also works with very deep glass lids. It breaks the seal just enough to allow you to easily open the lid 99% of the time. Love it. In my opinion, an indispensable kitchen utensil.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • No

It works! The best way to easily break stubborn glass lids

This is that dumb tool you think you don't need, but you do. Get yourself a bright orange so it's easy to find in your drawer! As my hands get older, I don't want to bang cans on the head, hit with knives, or hope for a rubber pad to give me a good grip. It even works better than the old crank opener I have. I figured I could use an old-fashioned "church key" to do the same job, but I couldn't. It's much larger and works reliably. You will not regret it. People are right haha.

FIXED REVIEW! suitable for can opener

Do not open the can to save your life! I miss my TAB GRABBER! I USED IT ALL WRONG! I'm so guilty! This does NOT apply to tabs! This is for opening SCREW CANS! And it works great! Put it under the screw cap and it will release the air in the vacuum seal! After that, the screw cap unscrews EASILY, it is NOT damaged and can be used to reseal the jar! I tested it again after another customer asked if the top would close again. Thank you for your concern! Again: Sorry for the confusion. This is a…

Doesn't work on any of the cans I've tried.

Concept works GREAT - there is not much of this product. I had a gallon sized marinade jar that would never be unscrewed. I tried tapping it. I tried heating lead metal in boiling water. I tried the rubber pad for better grip. Nothing worked. So I bought Jackie. The frying didn't catch the bottom of the lid. There wasn't enough space between the lid and the glass edge around the bottom of the lid to get in. But I was able to stick a regular flathead screwdriver (Thomas) in, and the slightest…

So easy I have to laugh out loud!

As I got older. My arthritic hands kept testing me. The other day I tried to open a can of salsa. Couldn't - waited until morning, still couldn't, tried again a day later. still couldn't. Read reviews of various items that can help, but there was always a review or two that mentioned they only open 3-1/2 inches or less. Measured and the salsa glass was over 3 1/2 inches. Then I accidentally saw that JarKey was advertised as an option. Ha, too simple to actually work, right? Well, not too…

Vacuum is the key: can opener

I did a lot of research and decided on my first can opener. I have found it so difficult to open because of the vacuum seal. And that all ordinary glasses in the supermarket have the same design. It's like opening a beer glass with a metal lid, but a lot easier. I have to confess that I brought a battery powered Twister first. Since all other types work by rotating the lid, I've found that you have to hold the jar in place and rotate it at the same time. Only the battery type made it…
