2008-2009 (particularly 07-09.11) 328i Owners WARNING!

These pads have extra clips on the outer pads and will NOT fit 328i calipers unless the outer pads are modified. [.] Hawk confirmed this issue. Cool Carbon (another popular option on E90post) sells the 328i pads as the D918NC and the 335i and M3 as the D918. NC means no clips. Please make sure you fully understand what is going on before ordering.

Modified BMW 335i - use them every day, both on the road and on the track

I bought these pads to replace the EXTREMELY dusty OEM pads on my 335i, not only are these pads less dusty , but the initial bite is excellent and does not disappear even with long braking at high speed. These pads are also wearing very well, I've had the same set in my car for over a year now and they still have over 50% pad life. I will definitely buy another set if needed! Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Great brakes, no noise

Great brakes, no noise, progressive braking and stops better than the original. Lubricant is included to reduce pad noise and to lubricate the caliper bolts. I have a 2008 BMW 328i and had to remove the metal calipers for the front brakes, but it wasn't that difficult. Maybe cutouts are needed for certain models, I'm not sure. The front brake has 2 sensors and the rear brake does not. The car only needed one sensor for the front and one for the rear. The front pickup is about 6 inches shorter…

  • Hands-free operation

A good performer but LIST at low speeds.

Installed these on a 2008 535i. They include a brake sensor but do not come with the new rattle clips. I think the new rattles help reduce the noise, especially if you swap out the second to last or third to last. They work well after warming up. These are definitely high performance outdoor pads. The downside is that they are noisy. The squeak is quite minor at low speeds. This problem didn't show up until about 300 miles after the bed was finished. While I appreciate the braking power at high

Good pads. Bad sensors.

I have experience with various Hawk pads from my freeway days (on other cars). However, the HPS are performance outdoor pads, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I only drive daily (no more track time), sometimes vigorously. In the corners, I swapped everything for a 335i with a sports package - these pads don't make any noise. I applied a fair amount of anti-squeak paste to the back of the pads prior to installation, so make sure you do the same. However, still no squeaking. There is noticeably…
