📟 HawkEye DT2BX-TH: Advanced In-Dash Depth Sounder with Temperature Measurement & Thru Hull Transducer Review

The product failed within 3 weeks of installation. Returned to the seller under warranty according to the instructions, receipt of which was confirmed. Now almost a month later I do not have a refurbished item and the seller refuses to say when or if I will EVER receive the refurbished item. I do NOT recommend this item and this seller!

This is the second Hawkeye product I have purchased for my boats. I bought this device to replace a broken device that was already installed on my ski boat. The hole was already in the case, which made the replacement very easy. Everything was exactly the same as what I had uninstalled before the install went very smoothly. I decided to keep the depth reading from the bottom of the hull and just add the boat's draft in my head. I really want to know how deep the water is just below my boat.

Depth gauge stopped working almost immediately. I can't return because it will leave a big hole in the bottom of my boat. A piece of junk. UPDATE: I've contacted Revain to try to replace it. They require the item to be returned which is obviously not possible via hull installed in my boat. UPDATE: Sent in on - take the system to their service department for them to check. The device worked properly. I installed in August 2012 and everything was great. It worked last summer and now when I sell the boat I installed it in it won't read the bottom! It reads air and water temps well, but not the bottom. Based on my experience I ordered a Hawkeye for a new boat. The new boat has a depth sounder, but it doesn't read a permanent bottom. There are delays. Hawkeye, when it works, ALWAYS reads a constant bottom. That's what I like about the product but to be honest the…
