Too high price for lowest quality

This is my second Hawking Technology unit as the first unit's setup menu was almost unusable as it often either froze or crashed requiring a pause or restart. so I can access it again. One day, despite the wonders of my patients, I finally managed to set it up and after about two or three hours it was up and running for about a night. The next morning I go to connect and I can't find the SSID and when I checked the router the lights on both wireless connections were off and I had to restart it…

The range is less than the Cisco E4200. Intermittent video

I bought this because it was the top rated Revain dual band router at the time. However, there were only six reviews. My old E4200 started having problems after about a year so I bought it. Suddenly my Directv video was choppy, I had frequent power cuts and the range got worse. Would have been a decent router for half the price, but if you're looking for a premium home router, look elsewhere.

    obsolete and never great

Obsolete now! I've had this router for 18 months and never liked it. A lot of problems connecting my phone to Wi-Fi and in general just not very good electronics. I got a NAS and this thing was starting to disappoint me. I could not transfer data from my Synology NAS. I upgraded to the new Linksys and everything was fine. Two years ago this router was reliable, but now it's falling far behind.

Not the best of features or equipment

Not a bad machine but lacks the features I thought such a "guest" wireless network would include for the price. Reading the description, nothing was mentioned about this feature, but I assumed it would be the same as 90% of all other wireless routers I've configured. In terms of performance, nothing special or any advantages over others. Based on the price difference, I thought maybe a step above cheaper devices, but not like that.

Unfortunately, after only two days, it completely failed.

I bought a Hawking Technology Router (D45R) because it promised higher speeds and good range. Having set it up with Hawking Tech Support, I don't know much about Wi-Fi hardware, it worked better than expected. The range was just what I needed and the transfer rate was very good. In the morning of the second day it stopped working wirelessly. The desktop connected via Ethernet cable was fine, all other devices were not. I consulted with the Hawking Tech representative again and after about an…

Huge Difference: Added additional info on 19 Sep 13

bought this because I always had dropouts on my previous N series wireless router types. I was always happy with tplink until the fallout started. I drive a Roadrunner turbo so it should be faster. I've noticed some speed increase on N routers. Now we come to that. It was difficult to connect to my laptops until I realized that you need to remove all previous connections connected to the old router, especially as I wanted to keep the ssid and passwords. Once that was done, everything ran like…

Should now change name to JUNKING Hawking

Total rubbish this is the second one I bought thinking the first one was just a coincidence. Both worked for about a month, after which they stopped broadcasting. The internal WiFi antenna modulators on it are apparently cheap junk. Hawking used to be a good brand but apparently they've gone for a cheaper supplier. Signal strength is good but if they can't make a durable product then what's the point. Hawking's tech support is a joke too. The solution now both times is to bring it back to…

    Great wifi router!

I had several other wireless routers and none of them had enough range to cover our entire house. This one definitely does! We have 2 laptops, 2 ipod touches and an ipad, all connected to the router at different times of the day and all connect fine, with excellent signal throughout the house (3 story house, 4000 sq ft) and no sign of slowing down at high Activity. I'm definitely glad I read the reviews on this and other routers and decided on this one!

Good technique but not worth the money if it doesn't last long.

I have owned and used this router for about 15 months with no problems. The dual band WiFi was actually very handy and the router was very easy to set up (I especially like the MAC ID naming feature in my MAC filter list as I turn on and off a lot of computers on my network, that made it very easy to keep the list in order). Unfortunately, at the end of the 15th month, the router restarted intermittently. I couldn't find a solution online so I contacted Hawking Technical Support for help. They…
