Very good wifi booster, setting a bit over the top every time.

The product works better than expected. Get multiple wireless networks in the area. We use it in our RV to try and get a decent signal. Most signals are boosted to 86% which is sustainable, many are 100% but can pick them up without a booster. Booster also lets you use a manual firewall for extra security when using open WiFi. Installation was very easy. The downsides are that it only comes with 3ft of coax cable, which I think is only good for installation. The other downside is that there…

HOD45B. Do not buy! fits computers and accessories

I have read some of the negative reviews and have come to the conclusion that as an electronics technician I can solve most of the problems listed! Not correct! It's terrible. I called tech support 3 times in 2 weeks and my wife called 3 times in the same 2 weeks from her phone. They NEVER answered our calls. They also outsource from another country. I had to restart the device daily and it never worked in WDS mode. I think some of the issues I had were related to the heat. I live in Louisiana…

Don't be hopeful. Not worth the money.

I have a very large yard and need better Wi-Fi coverage than my previous cheap outdoor hotspot. I had high hopes for this product but so far I have been very disappointed with the signal from the Hawking Technology Hi-Gain Outdoor Dual-Band Wireless-600N Wireless-600N. I set up my device as a hotspot. The signal goes up and down and I often lose connection and have to turn Wi-Fi on and off on my device to reconnect. I called Hawking tech support and went through all the troubleshooting steps…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

2 years and still happy

I have been using this product for over 2 years to provide a hotspot for my area. Sometimes I have to do a soft restart through the computer when access becomes sluggish, very simple process, otherwise no problem. Installation was easy, installation was easy, I live in Mexico and heavy summer rains weren't a problem. I don't see how I could buy a better block for my purpose.

great for farms on wireless hotspots

I installed this about 15 ft in the air on a TV antenna mast and can see and connect to the WiFi router on the other side of the farm (over 1000 ft flat land without trees) now if I could get cable internet instead of satellite. A Category 5 PS cable from the power injector to the router is NOT included as this will need to be fished through the walls from your internet source inside to the unit inside. I used a 50ft reel of cable to get this setup.

  • Easy to use

The radio seems really good and it was able to repeat one of ours.

Works as advertised. The radio seems really good, and it was able to broadcast one of our office's wireless networks across the parking lot to the other side, and here and there where needed. Parking 4 rows, +2 row for entry/exit. There is one part of this setup that I give 1 or 2 stars for and that is the POE adapter. While the device itself is ideal for outdoor use and has survived a few rain showers at its current location, the POE adapter is clearly not designed for outdoor use. So far…

Not impressed! suitable for network products

I had 2 of these in 3 years of work Unfortunately, one of them started losing the signal regularly. I was looking at the options currently available and was wary of ordering another one based on recent reviews. On the advice of one of our guests who programs computer networks and client networks, I ordered another one. At first everything seemed to work fine, but then the signal disappeared and I had to restart every few days. Tech support changed the settings etc and we got slightly better…

Faulty device in repeater mode

Required a commercial outdoor Wi-Fi extender to get the signal on our docking station. Set up the device as a WiFi repeater and it was a big disappointment. The signal from my failed Lynksys router on my docking station was better than this extender. Basically an expensive paperweight. Maybe it would be better if the wired connection was connected to my router, but I don't have a way to do that. Some of the previous reviews were good for this device, but I am very disappointed with the…

Works perfectly! for networking products

I have a client who wanted me to install a WiFi signal between their barn and their main home. I have used their HW2R1 Smart Repeaters before and decided to try their outdoor unit. The product is very easy to install. It comes with external mounting brackets for wall or pole mounting. To install PoE I had to buy an ethernet cable (the customer wanted it mounted outside of their house on the 2nd floor). There are multiple modes, access point, bridge, etc., and there's even a universal repeater…
