Good headphone for sloppy listening

I used to think a lot about headphones but being less involved with audio and more into IT I just wanted to get good headphone sound . Psytrance track that goes with my work on the Linux command line. In that regard, I really liked these headphones, accurate enough not to bother me, "aesthetically" boosted in certain areas to make the listening experience more colorful. The bass is a bit muffled and can sometimes sound a bit dull depending on the song mix. I don't see that as a problem, but I…

worked very well for 3-4 months. I used it with an NVIDIA graphics card to connect a second display to my computer. About a month ago the secondary monitor I connected it to would turn off for a few seconds before turning back on and would do so about every minute. Until I unplugged the adapter from the computer and plugged it back in. I swear I had to do this every time I turned on my computer. I know it wasn't the monitor because I was trying to detach it from the monitor more easily instead…

Great headphones on headphone accessory

I have previously purchased three other Audio-Technica headphones. Audio Technica ATH-CK303M Headphones - Silver (bought two of these, now $23 with shipping) and Audio Technica ATH-M35 Closed Dynamic Stereo Monitor Headphones ($69 now without shipping, up about $20 since) as I bought them a year ago.) Anyway, on to the review. In all honesty, I can't tell any significant difference in music quality from the Audio Technica headphones I've bought. (For sub-$25 headphones, their sound quality is…

As good as M50S

I have had ATH-M50S cans for two years now and love them. I didn't like the tangle-prone straight cord and decided to buy a new set. When I saw the white ones, I had to have them. Adapts perfectly to the body of the Slappa SL-HP-01; You'll have to bend them a bit, but that should be fine. I don't get rid of the ones I have, I keep them in case the cat chews through their cord. I wish they had an easily swappable cable like some of the Sennheisers I've had. However. They don't sound quite as…

Gateway Drug for Music Beginners

Why 4 Stars? You are really good. Ratings and numbers don't lie. This is a solid headset. Kept the 5th star because you can find very high quality phones at higher prices. However, these phones offer the best value in the $100-$200 range. HANDS DOWN. Pros: Before that I used MONSTER Beats Pro which have deep bass. This is a sacrifice though as the sound is DEFINITELY smooth compared to the ATH-M50. I would say if you listen to hip hop or music that requires deep bass like dubstep or something…

Sound Excellent Best in Adapters Category

I bought a pair of Sony MDR-V6's over Christmas because of the price and reviews and was quite happy with them except found the sound a little dirty. Good sound, but not outstanding. I read a lot of reviews about the sound quality of the ATH-M50, but since I got along well with my cheaper Sony headphones, I didn't want to buy another pair of headphones. However, I have read review after review from audiophiles who swear by these headphones. I've decided to order a pair of these ATH-M50's and if
