My husband bought this particular model 21 years ago and I would still use it if my brother in law hadn't managed to damage it in the garage. "You told me they were indestructible!" he said. "I said practicality was indestructible, and I never told you they would cut the wire." I said. They are worth a lot more than their dollar value. I had a pair of Oneida kitchen scissors and a utility set and both of them couldn't cut through the inside of a cereal or cracker box with little effort. This set goes (cliché warning) like a hot knife through butter! They are very sharp and work great. If I had one complaint it would be that I wish the finger holes were a little bigger. I have big hands and I can't put all my fingers in them.

My JA-Henckels knife has been working with scissors for over 30 years. Once I could not find scissors - I looked everywhere. I ordered them because I didn't want to be without them anymore. As you might have guessed, I found my original pair as soon as they arrived. I use them every day for a task or two, from slicing bagged lettuce to slicing basil and opening USPS bags (I wash them well afterwards). They are amazing and I now have two pairs.

A bottle opener in the handle is useful more than once. 4 stars for durability because I've only had it for a few months with infrequent use. They appear to be very well made. They are quite sharp and easily cut meat and small chicken bones. The 4 stars for "easy to clean" are due to the fact that, like all devices of their kind, they can be particularly clean in the dishwasher after use with raw chicken. I can highly recommend them as economical kitchen scissors.

I got these when I realized that no one had put a pair of kitchen knives in my kitchen knife block that came with the Henkel knife set I received as a wedding gift. 30 years later I was amazed that the same scissors are still for sale. They stay sharp and as long as you don't overstress them they hold up well. Hand wash and dry and they will last a very long time. They may be stainless steel, but never check, wash and dry immediately afterwards. Hope that helps.

I've had these scissors for about two years now and they're pretty boring. I took them to my workshop to be sharpened and found that they cannot be sharpened because the two sides are riveted together. I also found surface rust under the blue plastic cover leading me to believe it is low quality stainless steel. We took care of these items (hand wash and dry) so this is a little surprising and disappointing. I also noticed that after two years the blades had developed play or play of about 1/32

At this price I didn't expect the shears to be of the same quality as my Henckels knives, but I did expect high quality stainless steel material, at least the same quality as similar "unnamed" replacements I've bought in the past. I bought these to replace my old scissors and they are quite good. I think I didn't read the description or reviews carefully enough, thinking they could be taken apart for cleaning. It doesn't matter though, I guess I'm used to that from scissors. They're also a little shorter than I thought, but it's my fault for not paying attention to the description.
