🧢 Thermoprene Sport Cap by Henderson Review

Some hats don't even have a face hole big enough to put a mask on unless you wear a mask underneath. It is not easy to adjust or change the position of the mask. It fits, holds hair in, keeps it warm and the chin strap keeps it in place. MUCH BETTER than a swimming cap.

I use this cap to surf the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean in Northern California. It's designed to fit well, and it does. I wish it had a small account as there aren't many options with this feature. For the price unbeatable. I would buy again.

You'll love the weight of this neoprene hood. I use it over a swim cap when I swim in the outdoor pool in the fall and winter in cold weather. I like that it does NOT have a visor like many others so it's more streamlined. Holds my earbuds in place. That's convenient. I don't feel like I'm wearing anything extra, but I'm definitely warmer.

I don't have a big head but the cap won't stay on. For example, the front of the cap is too short and should cover most of my forehead instead of ending at my hairline. Generally, more fabric area is required for the cap to fully cover the head and reduce the possibility of movement. After trying to keep the cap I ended up rejecting the product but I've exceeded the return deadline and now I'm stuck on this one.

I wear a 7 3/8 hat, have XLG and it fits great. Snug enough but not too tight that you might need it, but I only needed something to swim in when it's cold. According to the chart, I was at the top of Lg. So I increased the size, which I'm glad I did. I also liked the adjustable chin strap. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cap, I only gave 4 stars because it's just a cap and I don't think everything should be 5 stars.

I usually hate hoods, hats and things like that on my head. Cold water hoods are too limited and unless I'm in really cold water I just don't like traditional hoods. However, this is more like a beanie and while not as warm as a full hood, it offers me the perfect combination of comfort and warmth in 65 to 75 degree water. I just used it in the Keys where I'm typically in the water 90 minutes per dive and without this cap I was shivering towards the end of the dive. I was great with him.

The cap looks well made but the design is imperfect. For some stupid reason they attached the velcro to the collar at the front instead of the side. No matter how carefully you attach the velcro it will stay on top of your wetsuit. Because of this, I damaged a new $100 shorty. The velcro caught all the seams along the neckline of the suit and damaged it. You either need a hat with velcro close to the ear or just a strong strap without velcro. BEWARE! I would not recommend this hat to anyone.
