It works fine on a 2010 Yamaha yz450f!

My bike won't start! It started fine and out of nowhere I just couldn't start it! It turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator! Doesn't spin so well! πŸŽ‰

Pros
  • Designed and built to provide well over 100,000 miles or 30,000 hours of performance
Cons
  • So-so

Back in the mud in no time!

I was surprised that this valve was available for my Yamaha WR250R without having to buy the entire fuel pump which costs US$350 -dollar was available. It seemed to me that this replacement check valve was better made than the original valve.

Pros
  • Replaces OEM Parts: Yamaha 33D-13907-00-00 33D-13907-01-00
Cons
  • Interchangeable

For 2012 WR250R

Yamaha's OEM regulator is not available unless you purchase the complete pump assembly ($350) so you save a lot of money. This Quantum regulator is only slightly shorter, but it fits and seals with ease. Yamaha's regulator is designed to hold fuel pressure between 34.8 and 36.3psi, while this regulator read 55psi when I did a fuel line pressure test. Yamaha claims that higher pressure will cause your fuel mixer to get rich, but I haven't noticed any performance issues, and no forum or review…

Pros
  • Meets or exceeds OEM specifications in form, form and function and is compatible with modern ethanol-fortified dispenser fuel. Designed for use with E85 and ethanol
Cons
  • There are new competitors

WR250R Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

My WR250R stopped working properly one day and refused to start the next day. The spark was good, the pump ran (louder than normal) but I had no flow through the nozzle. Took the pump out and replaced the factory pressure regulator with this unit and it caught fire right away. The only downside was that the stem that goes into the fuel pump wasn't stamped perfectly concentric, making it difficult for the block to sit as completely as the stem. I twisted it until it was as straight as possible…

Pros
  • Accurately tuned fuel pressure regulator that maintains OEM engine fuel pressure
Cons
  • I don't remember
