Description of Harold Import Co. Chinois Pestle, Wood, Cone-Shaped, 8-Inches, Natural

HIC’s Pestle presses pulp and thicker ingredients through a fine-mesh chinois for smooth, velvety textures and tastier results without any lumps. Made from hardwood; tapered to work perfectly with a cone-shaped chinois. Simply pulse ingredients in a blender, pour into a chinois, press pulp and thicker contents through the mesh with pestle and into a collection bowl. Ideal helper tool for canning and making sauces, soup, purees, pastes, jelly, custard, curds and more. Processes thicker ingredients quickly; use with HIC’s Chinois #43657 to press pulp and thicker foods through the mesh; hand wash in warm, soapy water. Item shape: Round.

Real China best in mortar and pestle

The only real Chinese I've found at Revain. It's only 7 inches wide, but it's enough for everything most people need in the home. It filters everything but the smallest particles excellently. Buy one and your sauces will get better in no time!

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • boring packaging

they are beautiful and replace kilometers of gauze

Before that there were Chinese trousers, they are wonderful and replace kilometers of gauze. Ideal for sifting broth, separating pulp and many other similar tasks. Think of a delicious, smooth sorbet!

Pros
  • sequins
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

Better than the cheap ones

Shinua are always a bit more expensive than you think but they are really nice. This one is just as good as the commercial strains I've used. Buy this one as some of the cheaper ones are either not strong enough or the mesh gets bent or torn easily.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Old

Special Cooking Made Easy

I use it when pitting tomatoes for homan marinara sauce and I love it! That made it a lot easier! Now I don't scratch my knuckles while removing the seeds and my nails aren't very thin from being in the citric acid. Hope that helps! Take care and stay safe! 💞🌺

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Functionality

Well done, highly recommended

This device makes broth a pleasure. It's durable and will pull even the finest herb particles out of your stash. I worked in a restaurant 30 years ago and used chinaua - made great soups and sauces but they are very difficult to clean. This is easy to clean - highly recommended

Pros
  • Very effective
Cons
  • For seniors

Fits my old cone screen

I bought a Goodwill cone screen without the ram and stand. This pestle works for me in a sieve to squeeze excess juice out of the pulp when straining. I use a fig of a gallon rubber to hold the strainer and collect the juice, it works well to stabilize the strainer while squeezing the juice. I wish it was an inch or two longer so the pulp doesn't rise up to the handle when in use. The finish came off in the wash, I suspect it was the protective wax.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Works great!: Mortar and Pestle

I bought this Chinese coffee to filter coffee grounds when making cold coffee and it works fantastic! I make cold brew with finely ground coffee, so the particles are pretty small. I used the Chinois without any other filter just to see how many grounds would happen (I expected a lot of grounds) and almost everything was captured by the Chinois. I was shocked! I ran the coffee through the chinois 2 more times and it picked up the entire rest of the set. As a final check, I lined the chinoise…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • This worries me
