Not tested. That does not work.

Item does not work. Apparently it came unchecked. Luckily I have a decent lab and I saw that during production the 2 resistors were 10kฮฉ instead of 100ฮฉ and replaced them. However, this is an educational element and someone who learns will give up before it works. Avoid!

Big size, difficult to work with single board computers

I really wanted to use these instead of the old chipset for my projects, the I2C interface alone seemed worth it. But I just can't rely on them. They seem to go into some sort of sleep mode when they stop listening to maps. I even hardwired the reset pin and toggled it every 60 seconds, but they still miss 1 out of 5 readings after about 20 seconds. :

Fur. Single board computer

The product seems to work as expected although I could not get it to work 100%. I contacted the support team and they sent me their files made for the product but it still didn't work. 100% working. I kept trying to get support but they just told me to check the forums after their own software didn't work on the device. They didn't work if they weren't changed on a fresh install.

  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Short manual

Nice module that does what it's supposed to do

Product works very well. There are other boards here that look the same but don't perform as well as these boards. There are a few things about this item, 1cm is the longest realistic reading distance, but it suits my needs. The DIP switch is surface mount and can crack, there are weird solder points underneath, which also reduces the overall thickness of the board. The distances shown are a bit exaggerated, if you agree this is a board for the job.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

This is a Chinese fake Elechouse PN532 module

This product is a counterfeit. You can even see the Elechouse logo on the copied images. Elechouse sells a newer version that isn't much more expensive. Do not buy. I had many problems with this device. I've tried all the libraries they link to. None of them worked. I was able to read the firmware version from the chip, but I ended up not being able to read/write to the RFID.

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Good price and functionality

I really appreciate all the work that goes into developing free software for this device. PN532s don't come around often at this price point. It's also great that you've provided 4 female-to-female connectors and don't have to unsolder any connectors let alone come up with connectors to choose from. The board is well made, fairly durable, and the range (like traditional RFIDs) increases if you attach it to a material of a similar density to wood. Perfect for my application, and I also have aโ€ฆ

Good product! - Computer Components

Worked great with my Arduino Pro Mini using I2C (ILO SPI to minimize connections). You need to install some libraries to make it work. The first is called Don's NDEF library. Then comes the PN532 library (I used the Seeed Studio version) which you can find on GitHub. PN532 is actually a set of 4 libraries: PN532, PN532_HSU, PN532_I2C and PN532_SPI. You only need 2, the main PN532.h file and either I2C or SPI depending on how you connect it. HSU is designed for high-speed communications that you

Wow. Not suitable for implants with glass tubes.

I am 99% sure these are fake NXP chips. (check the custom logo) They have a much lower range than the original. They don't work at all with NFC glass tube implants. I bought three of these and they all performed equally badly. They work well with card or keychain based tags. But when you compare the real to these fakes, the real reads the card's mark at a distance of 3.5 inches, while it has to be within 2 inches to read the same card. I have to align my implant optimally and touch the circuitโ€ฆ

Good RFID module for computers and accessories

This review is for the HiLetgo PN532 RFID module. The kit includes 2 RFID cards (1 card and 1 fob) and the module itself. The module claims to support 3 types of connections (HSV, I2C and SPI). In most cases I would choose I2C as it has fewer wires to connect. However, this is not the case. The first reason was that to use I2C you need to connect the RST0 and IRQ pins (based on the Adafruit library). Even though the library can support both I2C and SPI, I haven't found that the initializationโ€ฆ
