Not what I was looking for.

I couldn't get it to work like that. It uses ESP-01 for WiFi and a second processor for exit monitoring. As there is no documentation for the second processor I removed it and added a PNP transistor to invert one of the ESP-01 outputs to drive the relay. After reprogramming, the ESP-01 works perfectly. At the time of delivery it only works with a dedicated app on your Android phone, not Alexa like I wanted.

Have been looking for it for a long time!

Daddy loves new toys! I'm working on an app to turn on water pumps during heavy rain. I want the pump to be ready to use, but don't want to risk electrocution or getting wet when I go outside and turn it on. With this module I don't need to do that. My family can connect to this device and turn it on or off through our mobile phones! Now I need to find a way to activate it via SMS codes so I can turn it on remotely. About the item: This item was shipped quickly. The photo does not convey…

Not used as is! on home automation devices

I admit I should spend more time learning this, but the module doesn't work as advertised unless you're an Arduino programmer. My intention is to learn how to use the Arduino at some point, but not now. I can turn on the module, see the SSID and connect to my phone, but the controller apps won't talk to it. Apparently there needs to be some sort of server running on the chip with programming to allow communication, and that's beyond my attempts at using a simple app to turn this on and off. Why

I like that I can now control the relay.

I didn't like that it isn't a simple GPIO output to control relays from ESP01. ESP must work with AT command firmware. Ok, but it's not working for me. I need an empty ESP01. This relay has a second MCU to control the relay, it listens to the ESP01 TX/RX. Here is the code to open and close the relay. , 0xA1};byte RlyClose[] = {0xA0, 0x01, 0x01, 0xA2};void setup() {Serial.begin(9600);}void loop() { //Open relay Serial.write("+IPD , 0.4"); Serial.write(RlyOpen, sizeof(RlyOpen))…

good relay board for IoT projects

This is a review of the ESP8266 5V WIFI Relay Module. This is a small unit that allows you to remotely control a relay switch. The main components of this board are esp8266, STC15F104 and of course the relay switch. There are not many documents. After some research on the internet I finally managed to get enough information to get the switch working. 1) You need a 3.3V FTDI converter connected to this module. The FTDI TX pin is connected to the RX pin of the module, and the FTDI RX pin is…

Not Impressed - Home Automation Devices

As other reviews point out, the Chinese documentation is pretty terrible. My use case for this device was on an ESP8266-01 control relay using my own code. I liked the given form factor and didn't really need much documentation; The price was ok so I took a chance. Please note that when you go to the site listed on the device, you not only get an insecure Chinese-only site (slow when accessing from the US), but all the information/letters are in images (probably copied from other sites? ) i…
