5 stars full

Quality boots. My poor yellow lab couldn't be outside in the snow and cold we were experiencing. A few minutes later she lifted her legs in pain and I rushed her into the house. She walks down the street in boots and plays like spring has come! They stay on foot (unlike others I've tried) thanks to 2 rows of strong Velcro on each boot. I ordered XXL instead of XL and they fit perfectly. I would advise you to order one size larger. These boots are well made and I would recommend them. Youโ€ฆ

They don't hold up very well.

For those of you who care about size, we bought size L for our large Goldendoodle. He has big paws and those boots looked pretty small but they actually fit him. On the negative side, they haven't held up well at all. The first time he wore them for a mile-long walk. He lost his shoe and we had to look for him. The next time he put them on to play in the snow, he lost all his boots! (By lost I don't mean he actually lost them, it's just that they all slipped off his paw.) They fell right offโ€ฆ

Why is it so difficult to buy good boots for dogs?!

Making shoes for dogs doesn't seem like a higher science, but it is. They are better than other Ruffwear boots I have. I like that they sit higher (for snow) and have a lining for warmth, although it's not much. They're pretty easy to put on, but also easy to take off. I first put them on my dog for a cold morning walk. Due to the lack of a solid rubber outsole, they are not as stiff. I think my dog liked it a little better than the others. The shoes fell off at the back, I had to put them onโ€ฆ

not bad. That's what it's all about

So far not bad. The thing is, anything you push on a dog paw, which is more like a ledge that almost no fingers can grab, can slide down. I've used them a few times and had mixed chances. How it is. I think success has to do firstly with the right seat and secondly with the right force on the straps. Little, they slip off. Too much dog can't walk. The key is to find the middle ground and pay attention to it. My dog walked a few miles without slipping. Mine also came off after walking 30 feet on

Pros
  • Nylon material is water-repellent and protects paws from snow and drizzle.
Cons
  • Not everything fits
