Small, poor suction, leaking

I didn't have enough suction on my Mercury I/O 150 HP. It flowed like crazy. Also, it was almost wide enough to fit over the water intake vents. I returned mine.

Not bad, could be improved.

I bought these ears so I could test my old Johnson outboard without damaging the pump. It's ok, but it also doesn't cover the water intake on my old engine. I think the design needs improvement.

Bad engine flushing devices

This coupler did not fit my 9.9hp Yamaha engine exactly. I had to improvise with an extra clamp with ropes but it still leaked horribly when the water was turned on. I had to spend a little more money to get a design with an adjustable clamp function. The price was low but the device was not effective on my engine.

Motor couplings on motor flushers

Motor couplings. . Every man should have a pair, whether he has an engine to install them or is now. I installed it on my 1973 Johnson/Evinrude 25hp outboard and cranked it. We ran it for 10 minutes and they did a great job. Not something you use every day but the product was exactly as described and did exactly what it was supposed to do. Fast delivery.

Pros
  • Motor flushers
Cons
  • Can be retrofitted

Good price, does the job, could use more tension.

I got this one because the 60hp Yamaha outboard we have has fins on either side of the exhaust port. Downforce is low and the ears are not attached to the engine. It was about 40F so I let it sit for three days until I was ready to use it and by then it was in better shape. Is there anything that can be done to increase the force of the spring? next fall.
