Holley Truck Avenger 670

Bought this carb for my Bronco 79 (351M) which I use off road. This carburetor is best suited for propane or fuel injection. I've had this truck in a few sticky situations and haven't had any rides from this carb. It's a great carb, and I don't even like carbs!

Pros
  • Loads of positive vibes
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great! for parts

We put this carb on our shopping cart and replaced the Edelbrock. We've had issues with steep slopes in the past that caused our old carburetor to flood. The Truck Avenger performed flawlessly on the steepest slopes - horrible rocky climbs at low revs and idling. This allowed us to visit places we couldn't go before.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Hard to tell

great right out of the box!

It was a deal, I knew it was too good to be true. I was amazed, it was a great carb right out of the box, set the idle, a quarter turn on the idle mixture screws and I was wheelie on the craziest hills and rocks. Carburetor on my 76 CJ-5 304 SITTIN ON DANA 60'S 36" BOOTS AND LOCKED 5.13 GEAR. It was the best price yet! I was able to find a new Avenger HOLLEY 670cc truck.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Great carburetor!

Bolted right onto my Chevy 350 K5 Blazer and launched. When idling, the unit turned out to be a bit rich, but can be adjusted well with a vacuum gauge. Off-road mobility as described. I can't shut off the engine or flood when camber is off. My only complaint is the hesitation under quick acceleration. It turns off, then it goes up. I need to try an accelerator pump cam kit to alleviate this problem. Oh, and I hope MPG isn't the problem. In a standard truck, consumption does not exceed 8 mpg.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Without machine gun

Great Carburetor: Fuel System

This Carburetor worked as advertised right out of the box. It clicked into place and everything fitted perfectly. The only adjustment required was lowering the nozzles one notch due to the altitude I live at (over 2000 feet). I've experienced engine RPM drops in the past only when going over the speed limit. Now I can ride it on the roughest terrain without the slightest jolt of the engine. The carburetor is expensive, but it pays to be calm in the knowledge that the engine won't stall just…

  • Sturdy Construction

Diggity carbohydrate bomb! to the fuel system

Let me guess, your engine isn't running and you're fed up with leaking carburetors and repair kits? Me too. My old Holley 600cfm on my '72 Bronco with 351w was constantly struggling and leaking. The truck drove erratically and I couldn't figure it out. I bought this Truck Avenger 670, bolted it on and hooked it up. That's all. Other than turning the idle screw a few times, I haven't touched it in months. The Bronco now runs like a raped monkey and idles calmly and confidently. Very impressed…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Fuel ethanol ruins this carb

Bought for my 1986 F350 Farm Truck. Installation was fairly easy for a professional mechanic, everything needed was included and the carburettor worked well. Unfortunately, I rarely use the truck and it has been standing for about three months. I tried to start the truck and found I had no fuel. I removed the carburetor and found that the main jets were clogged with paint deposits. Everything cleaned up and the car runs perfectly again. Two months later there was no fuel again, this time not…

Holley customer service is the worst

Be careful when you buy a Holley carburetor the service is the worst and they are not behind the problems and bills that come with a defective Holleys product and diagnosis caused by their customer service team. I had problems with my car after installing a Holley 4150 Truck Avenger carburetor. I called Holly and the company emphatically told me that my "new carburetor" problem wasn't with this car, it was with my car. When I billed the local auto shop with a faulty carburetor diagnosis, Holly…
