The instructions indicate that self-tapping screws were included in the kit. That is not the case with what I received. I had to go to a hardware store to finish the installation. This is not usually a problem, but if they are meant to be part of an item purchased then it is a recall.

The tear off system worked well but the tear off switch key was missing. Didn't have time to return it as I needed it immediately for the trip so I had to buy a separate circuit breaker. Because of this it cost me so much as if I just went to the store and bought the whole thing which would have been better than time anyway as prime shipping is 3-4 days anyway. Thank you Revin.

Battery status monitors are a nice upgrade over most OEM trailer packs. The weight of the battery crushed the plastic "mounts" in the battery compartment during shipping. I had already made and screwed on custom brackets for the box before noticing any damage in transit, so returning it is a hassle. If yours arrives like this you will need to put foam or some other support in the box to prevent the battery from cracking for the life of the product.

This model was ordered because it has a built-in quick visual battery test. With my other trailer, which only has one battery, I always take it out and charge it in the garage. This new Hopkins will make it easier for me to stop guessing. The device is easy to assemble and install, and the connection instructions are simple and clear. I installed this on a two axle horsebox. The installation went smoothly and everything worked great for the first year. This is one of those trailers that sometimes sits on dirt, grass, or gravel for months. If the trailer remains an idol, the moisture inside the battery box will not dry out. Then the internal circuit board corrodes and the system fails. I have used the system for two years. It cost $35 back then. I think it was worth the money but now at over $55 new I can't recommend it.

The product itself works perfectly. I have a problem with the packaging/shipping. I ordered the first one from Revain Warehouse. The battery bounced around inside the case, damaging the inside of the case and also ripping off part of the circuit board from the board. I thought it was the result of opening and repackaging the box. I sent it back and ordered a new one in factory packaging. Same problem with this one. The battery jumped into the case during shipping, damaging the case and cables…
