Haven't used this multi-tow adapter yet. However, this is a direct replacement for the one I've been using for over a year. The 5-pin socket is the largest. I bought this for obvious reasons, trailer lighting. I had another one but I lost it somewhere in the dirt. This product works very well. I noticed concerns about the cap causing the ground pin to come loose. I also understand that there is a newer model that seems to have taken care of this problem. I have an older version. This product is very convenient and I love the fact that it has flat 4 and flat 5 connectors. Some other customers have complained that the protective caps can bend the exposed pin on the connector, so that was the first thing I checked when I got mine. ATTENTION: Hopkins 7-Blade on 5 and 4 Flat (#47385) *WILL NOT FIT* Pollack's popular 7-Blade OEM assembly (11-893P)! These Pollack sockets are OEM for at least Porsche, Audi and VW and I believe * BMW as well as some domestic US vehicles. The Hopkins part is approximately 1mm larger in diameter so it will not fit without first grinding/grinding at least 1mm of plastic down the full length and circumference of the male end of the Hopkins #47385 to fit the socket . Four and five pin adapters are protected by two dust caps. These dust covers are secured to the ground terminal with a press fit. The problem is that the dust cover tab is against the ground pin. So when trying to remove the dust cover, bend the ground pin ninety degrees (see "Customer Pictures" for a picture of what I'm describing). Good product! One caveat: the connector cap hangs and might bend the exposed pin, this is an easy fix (if you know in advance - thanks to the corn picker review).
