HSB524 2006 2011 Honda Speaker Adaptor Review

Bought some speakers to upgrade my sons 2007 Honda CR-V. As everyone knows, standard speakers are terrible. All doors removed, found I needed brackets. No modifications required, they attach to the doors. exactly the same as the originals. I removed the foam from the original braces and used them on top. Otherwise they rattle. Recommended when replacing Honda speakers.

I had many problems with it. I was trying to install it on a 2018 Civic LX as Crutchfield says it should fit. It is suitable if you are willing to screw the speaker directly into the plastic of this adapter without using any metal brackets. In this case, it will be very weak and unreliable. I end up using these metal brackets, but it was so difficult to screw the adapter to the door and the speaker to the adapter without losing these brackets at the same time.

It came with mysterious screws and no screw holes. The holes did not match the factory speakers at all! The thickness is twice the size it can fit! I only kept it because it takes some effort to fix and there aren't many options. Car parts always feel like the Wild West to me. Buy something that fits your car and you might get something that actually fits. So far I have always crossed out. Great product. I used it to replace the stock speakers on my 2017 Honda Accord Sport and it fits although it says it will not. Some reviews complain that they're a little loose, but the reality is that the dimensions are the same as the standard speakers, with the only difference being that the standard speakers have some padding on the bottom and an adhesive that sticks to the bottom Surface sticks they are placed. I might as well just hack the originals and make them work just as well. The plastic ribs on it interfered with the speaker's metal frame, preventing the speaker from sitting flat. So I had to snap them all off and then drill some new holes in the outer ring to attach the speaker to this frame. Honda Civic DX Sedan 2010. Replacing the standard speaker with speakers of the same size 6.5 inch Pioneer. The adapters work, but some modifications are required to install the specific speaker in the car.
