Fantastic!: Kitchen & Bath Installation

Fantastic Filter! Our well smells of hydrogen sulfide and I was hesitant to try charcoal as a solution and use an aerator. Took a risk with this setup and satisfied. I installed a bypass as the house now has a filter so I can bypass the filter when driving my car or bathing the dogs. The water tastes just like a bottle of your favorite purified water or spring water. Friends and family didn't notice the difference. It was installed a few months ago and seems to be working like new. There was an

Good price, needs frequent replacement

This filter can definitely be improved. It only lasts about 3 months before it clogs to the point where I need to replace it (water inlet is over 100psi and outlet is around 40psi). My water intake at home is only 70 gallons per day, so it mostly clogs after I've filtered about 6,000 gallons of water. And that, although it is mainly used as a final filter. I have three other built-in filters in my water supply before it even reaches this filter (one of which is also a charcoal filter). Despite…

Good filter, just a bit poor in one important aspect

This filter is well made and made from quality materials. Just one problem - and perhaps key to the low price - this filter sucks a little in the carbon department. Most of the 4.5" x 20" carbon filters I have purchased weigh between 5.4 and 7.4 pounds depending on the wall thickness of the extruded carbon tube. This filter weighs only 4.2 pounds. Since carbon is the material that does the filtration, the lack of material will likely affect (shorten) the life of this filter. Just one factor to…

Great filter to replace water filters

I currently have my third Hydronix filter since buying a house with a well. They work great. When we first switched to this filter, the water quality changed immediately - before the switch, my wife and daughter constantly complained about the taste of our water ("metallic", "unpleasant"). No complaints since - as others have said it now tastes like fine mineral water. One commenter was concerned about the product's light weight and potentially poor durability. That's a good point, but I can…

but the filter itself was fine. I was sitting in the living room.

The filter came in a 'damaged' box from Revain Warehouse Deals, but the filter itself was fine. It sat in my living room for almost 10 months before I got around to installing the system. The water comes out odorless and tastes great. Although I have a 4 filter setup starting with "Rusco 1-1/2-250-F Down Rotation Polyester Shielded Filter System" I then have 3 large blue Pentax filters with a 5005DG filter, a 1 micron filter and then this activated carbon filter. A little more money on the…

Cracked Filter - Replacement Water Filter

I think this filter would fit us but unfortunately when I lifted it from the top the filter broke about 1/3 down the tube and let it go useless . I just realized I waited too long to install to be eligible for a replacement. This is very disappointing as I would like to try this product again. Warning to buyers, always hold with two hands unless I've had a defect. See photo of crack. Update of this filter. The company kindly replaced the cracked filter free of charge, even though the return…
