Great packaging when I first opened the diffuser. It's a lot bigger and heavier than I expected and looks and feels solidly built. The base is heavy so the fish cannot easily move it. I soaked it for over 2 hours and hooked it up to an air pump. To my surprise you need your own pump and it cannot be used in conjunction with any other air line which I have not followed. I have a 4W Whisper 60 air pump that I have been using for years to create bubbles through three stones at once (4" ring stone + 6" ring stone + small air stone). We have had this product for about three months now. The bubbling effect is fantastic and releases a lot of air. The problem is the accumulation of algae on the rock itself. We walk long distances to keep our tank clean but algae has accumulated on top of the rock. I went to great lengths to clean the top of the unit with hot water and a brush, but I don't want to expose it to chemicals.
