🔍 Upgrade Your Skylight with the ICON 01981 Inner Dome SL1422 - Clear, 22" x 14" x 5" Opening Review

It matched our 2002 van "perfectly". The old one was weathered and cracked, this is a huge upgrade. Our mechanic did the installation but he said it was an easy fix. Looks great!

Ours fit very well. When we received the goods for the first time, there were scratches without a protective film. I contacted customer service, returned the scratched one and got a replacement very quickly.

Product did not fit in my trailer. Many trailers, like mine, have curved truss roofs. The inner dome fit on the high side but was too thick on the outer edge. I didn't return the inner dome as I plan to add about an inch to the ceiling to make the dome work.

You might think this skylight would fit an outside dome from the same manufacturer, but it doesn't. The curvature of the dome is too strong and the outer part that attaches to the roof (sold separately) is not high enough. Sent back and bought from another manufacturer who sells both pieces together that go well together.

The product itself was good. However, the instructions state that once the film is removed from the plexiglass, one cannot return the spin. There was no plexiglass protective sheet AND the company did NOT use a pressure sensitive label stuck in the middle of the light canopy. Couldn't remove the sticker and glue without resorting to something that might scratch or damage the plexiglass. upset.

This is a great replacement for a factory installed interior skylight. The ICON is slightly larger and taller than what I had, but it still fits a standard hole easily. The transparent panel is quite thick and crystal clear. There is a protective film on the outside that needs to be removed, unlike other reviews here. The ICON model doesn't have pre-drilled holes, which is good. Using the old skylight as a guide, I drilled pilot holes in the same pattern as the original. All in all a pretty…

This product is well made. After ordering 3 different SKUs, 2 of them after detailed consultation directly with ICON, none of them fitted properly. The length and width were correct, but the depth of the device and the fittings did not match. The trim was either too high, preventing the unit from fitting properly, or too short, exposing the insulation and frame. It doesn't really matter since it's a double dome, but it looks gaudy. I would have been less disappointed if ICON had the right part…
