As described. Although you can only rotate on one side.

As described in the article. There are some that are easier to install as you only need to plug them in after connecting the SSD to it. To do this you first need to connect the SSD to it and then insert the Who and you can only screw in the screws on one side to stabilize it as the other side is pretty much inaccessible in most cases unless you are building a new one Enclosure and the SSD is not the first thing you install.

Serious problem with side holes

Spent hours enlarging the side holes to fit the "regular" mounting screws of a 3.5 inch hard drive. As other reviewers point out, the holes are significantly smaller than typical HDD screws. They drill holes for the same screws used to attach the 2.5 drive to the tray. Another problem, attaching an SSD to this Adapter, causes the SATA/Power interface to be in the middle of the adapter. If you have exact SATA cables (like Apple computers) with limited cable length/placement, it definitely won't…

Thought he would be.

I was looking for a "good" SSD -> HDD kit/adapter. Thought that was all. no The screw holes on the adapter plate are for the small screws used in the SSD, not those of the original hard drive. If you have a mount that just snaps on, you'll need to drill or re-cut those holes. Also, once you mount the drive again, you will encounter a second problem. The drive is now one inch further into the drive bay than it should be. This is because the plate is too short. Or the attachment points for the

Decent mounts for the price

Mounts work as described. You installed my SSD drive well. However, it takes some work to get the screws in the hole the first time. I actually had to tighten them before even attempting to attach the bracket to my SSD, to the point where one of the screws even came loose. However, once I put them in, the screws come in easily and securely. All in all, this is hardly an issue as the mounts came with screw kits (lots of extra screws). The mount fits well in my car. The width of the square is a…

Side mounting holes are not threaded properly

Nice simple little bracket but with one big problem. It is assumed that a 2.5" drive can be converted into a 3.5" bay. However, screws that fit a 3.5" drive will NOT fit the holes on the side of the bracket. As a result, the screws do not go in without great effort. Luckily, the material is light enough that you can tap new threads if you have a few extra screws to chew on, a large screwdriver, and a good grip. It could be fixed, but it should never have been a problem. After inserting the…

Cheap - and not good quality

Over time I bought 10 of these cheap braces; and I won't buy any more. Almost every one of them had misalignment issues when installing different SSDs, and to top it off; About half of them are unthreaded or mis-threaded on the outer bracket screw holes. and cut threads in soft metal?

The best price for any of them is out there.

Works well. I buy used parts all the time, build computers out of them and then sell them online. My latest build had to use the 500GB 2.5" hard drive that was in my old laptop before it broke, so I needed a converter to keep everything tidy. It worked and it was the lowest price I could find on Revain. I also got one of these for my personal desktop SSD.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Very expensive

Nice little brackets

I wanted to keep my original hard drive and put another new hard drive (WD Scorpio Black) in my old computer but it didn't have an extra hard drive bay. The only options were to place it in the optional 5.25-inch bay below the CD drive bay, or buy a more expensive external hard drive. So I had to tweak the holes in the bay a bit to get them positioned the way I wanted, but it wasn't a big deal. The mount can be installed 3 different ways in my bay, so I'm guessing it will fit any 5.25" bay. As…
