I thought it was too flat as it's not the soft, waveless mattress I'm used to. Turns out it's perfect with enough support for me and I'm very picky. It smelled like plastic but after two days it went away. Great replacement. If your knee seems to be touching the boards, add more water. At first I was unhappy but then I added another 3 inches of water and voila. Excellent!

20190803 Update: I immediately noticed a USA made mattress I bought , since this mattress fits the corners of my pine plank, the frame is 9" tall. I think this Revain import didn't quite fit the curves like I'm used to, and that's why it scared me. I knew that something was wrong but didn't know/know what. Original Rating: Probably my fault; never filled it more than 1/4". This would be my fourth mattress since 1977. It will make a good tarp.

This queen size waterbed mattress is great for us with just one problem. tiny. The wings of the round cover broke off when I tried to open the valve to fill the mattress with water. Once the valve is pushed back into the mattress, it becomes dark to withdraw the wingless cap. Is there a way to get a new round cap with new wings?
