Keyed and unbalanced

This product is a failure in my opinion. It was a great idea, but it wasn't practical for real applications. There are much better products from professional brands that you can get for the same or less. Really not impressed and thinking of returning.

Small hexagonal screw is annoying

Value for money was really great, but inserting the bit is a bit cumbersome and annoying. You need a separate tool to remove the small screw and fix the bit. I really wish it was just something with a magnet holding the bit in the hex head.

Pros
  • Trial year
Cons
  • Nothing

Nice extension in box

Needed a forstner bit extension to drill holes in wall studs as the bit needs to be securely attached to the extension as forstner bits don't reverse as well as standard bits. This tends to make them jump out of the expansion, and if they're inside the wall that's a problem. Should be useful for reaming and threading. Good that it also has two adjusting screws.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Negative impression

Works well good for drill

Worked well; However, I prefer expansion bits that have a fast connection. Adding/removing is much easier and faster because you don't need to take out the Allen key. Also, I must not have tightened the small screw very much because while drilling I loosened the screw and popped out, but luckily we found the screw and tightened it. Otherwise it makes a very robust and durable impression.

  • good thing
Cons
  • Some trouble

Great for hard to reach places

I bought this extension to get my drill into tight spots. That helped! This is good because you can tighten the bit in this extension to make sure you don't lose the bit when you pull the bit out of the screw head. 6 inches was long enough for what I needed it for. The bat seemed well built and reliable. Irwin does great things!

Pros
  • Electric drill parts and accessories
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great drilling accessory.

Sometimes you have to drill through the walls to get to the wiring. Telephone, cable TV and Internet use require their own access point. Most drills don't reach. This gadget does a great job. It is solid steel and feels heavy. The Allen key also holds the bit well. A little problem; The extension head is about 5/8" in diameter and the two small set screws usually stick out about 1/16". This puts a limit on how small a hole you can make at full range. However, I consider this extension to be a…

Bought for cleaning limescale build up on pool tile

I bought this 6 inch extension to fit a drill bit to remove scale film from spa and pool tiles. I've just moved into another house where the pool type pool tiles have not been properly maintained (no wonder). The spa film was quite layered and extremely noticeable as the spa water level went down during the day after filtering. I bought a 3M plastic paint grinding wheel ($7 for HD) and used it to give my screwdriver some extra length. It works well for the pressure and movement required to…

Pros
  • Twist drill bit
Cons
  • Long delivery time
