I bought this tool to use as an integral part of my tool kit when building a wood frame house. I needed something to cut most of the material for my grooves without spending a fortune on slotting chainsaws. Combined with a 550lb 1/2" torque, low-speed Bosch drill, this drill exceeded my expectations. I use it primarily on oak and poplar wood. Some boards are quite green, others have been sitting for a while and are a bit dry. Regardless of the condition of the wood, this thing works wondersβ¦
I really wanted to love this nozzle and in soft wood it could be perfect. I just drilled a 2x4 to run some piping and I used a nearly underpowered 7.5A drill bit, but every time the center screw pressed the surface against the stud, it jammed and I had to wriggle out. I tried the trick mentioned in the previous review of replacing the screw with a regular drill bit, but the round shank drill bits only turned in the middle. I received a strange request from my future sister-in-law. For the wedding, she wanted small pieces of wood, 2.5 to 4 inches in diameter, for centerpieces on tables.
