Money wasted on hand tools

I expected more from Irwin. "Bite" is twisted or shifted. A real bite always requires two hands. Next time I will buy the Milwaukee or Vice Grip brand. This product was a waste of money.

Pros
  • Hands-free work
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Good product fits pliers

I use these clamps to temporarily hold steel bolts together before drilling and screwing. They work fine. The only thing that confuses me is that the mechanism has quite a lot of play, which makes the two ends of the handle move slightly.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons

Holds up well but needs refitting after each use

I used it to hold the steel studs to allow the screws to be installed. It holds up well but had to be touched up after each use despite the fact that the thickness of the metal was the same. It works, but it's time consuming and needs to be adjusted every time

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Mediocre quality and usefulness

It feels a bit crappy but they get the job done. Good for occasional use; everything is loose/faulty. Those considering this item should look for an alternative with rotating pads as they tend to clamp more securely. It will probably end up in the donation basket sooner or later.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great tool, well made, worth a few bucks more than fakes

This is a well made fantastic tool which is to be expected when you buy a big name quality brand with a long history in the business that only thing to do be careful (which is my own fault) measure the overall length of the tool and not the width of the jaws themselves, but i've found myself using this little highback for tasks around the workshop, i love them easy!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Upgrades

Not as good as before but they do the job

Not as good as the original Petersen vise but for the price they work well. The problem is that when they are under load and you release them, the lock tends to pop out of the channel. Also twice they were in my tool belt and the turnbuckle went completely south of the tool and I had to fish to find them. ), which are much easier to accidentally detach.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Good product best in locking vises & pliers

Quality is not "premium". When I buy Irwin, I expect everything to be above average. It's "on average correct" when it comes to quality. It does the job. It is adjustable. This is exactly what I needed. It's just a bit wavy and loose in some places where a super high end product wouldn't be. I'm glad I bought it.

Pros
  • One-hand locks
Cons
  • So far so good

  • Questionable purchase for seniors
