Great beat, be careful and keep the beat as straight as possible.

Pull it out to 3/4 hole depth and remove the shavings, then refine the depth if you need a 7 1/2 hole depth, get the next bit size. I needed a 7.5 and bought a 7.5 but only 7 of these are good for drilling, I had to get the drill out of the chuck as much as possible while it was still stable. It worked, but it would be nice to have the following size

Pros
  • Equipped with a sharp pin for smooth holes and a self-guided tip
Cons
  • Can't remember

Happy with the result!

I was looking for drill bits and settled on the Ivy Classic and Wood Owl. I personally thought that a wooden owl would work better in a simple way because it has 3 cutting faces, of which the classic IVY has one. Start as you can see. Also, the IVY hole was easier to drill with my spacer. I made some holes as I was surprised Wood Owl didn't outperform IVY, 3 cutting faces popped up in my mind again. Maybe Wood Owl is better with a drill? Anyway, I like this auger! Both drill bits were 3/4" by 7

Pros
  • Heat Treated and Hardened Carbon Steel
Cons
  • Boring Pack

Wow - this drill pulls - perfectly clean holes

I had to 6" deep 13/16 holes drill for my floating shelf bracket and finding the right drill bit has been a challenge. While some are available, they are either very expensive or have a shank size significantly larger than my typical home improvement drill bit. Luckily I found this one. It arrived quickly and was well packaged in a bag that I can use for storage. I pre-drilled each hole with a 3/4" forstner bit to start leveling (I probably didn't need to, but I felt better). Then I put this…

Pros
  • Diameter: 1-1/8" Length: 7-1/2" Shank: 7/16" Hex
Cons
  • Little things
