An excellent paring knife

I ordered this about 6 years ago and lost it in a recent move. For example, how can you lose a knife? Anyway, these are great knives and I really need a paring knife (btw I really need five knives: a chef's knife, a paring knife, a bread knife, a utility knife and a carving knife. It will help you with almost anything and will always be the best knife be that you can afford.

Pros
  • is understandable even for the old

Poor design Not very safe

This knife is not safe. Very sharp. A light touch of the new will cut you. The back edge is very close to the index finger. I cut myself this way once, so I blunt the end of the edge with sandpaper. The back of the handle is flat, so the tip will sometimes point up when the knife is placed on a flat surface. You need to be careful when putting down the knife to avoid this.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Doubtful

A sharp, durable paring knife and a great price!

This knife has become my favorite tool in the kitchen. I love the sharpness and the weight of the knife. The handle is comfortable and fits my hand well. The small hook at the end ensures that it doesn't slip out of my hand even when it's wet and slippery. It stayed sharp through heavy use and only needed a quick adjustment of the steel a couple of times. All in all, this is a fantastic little knife!

  • Fingers crossed

Can't complain about the price

I bought this item for $10 and at that price I have no complaints. Please note that this knife is very unbalanced. The handle is quite heavy and the blade very light, which I'm not used to from my other knives. There is also no guard at the end of the handle. I like it because I can easily run the whole blade over the sharpening stone; However, unless you are careful or confident in your knife handling skills, I would not recommend this. You're more likely to slip your hand on the blade than on

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

Hard to hold securely

When I ordered a pair of these 3 inch Henckel paring knives I didn't realize there was no index finger guard between the handle and the blade. The back edge of the blade is sharp and I got a small cut on first use. I find it dangerous and two of them come back. The handle is also bulky for the size of the knife. I have little desire to return the knives, but the missing finger guard. I do not recommend this type of knife. love them but they were more expensive and better designed.

Uncomfortable to hold

Dear Henkels, Warm regards - replaced my wonderful 40 year old 10 inch chef's knife free of charge. I thought that not only would I support them, but I would also get an excellent product. The problem with these knives is that the handle is uncomfortable. The main reason for this is the very sharp edge that my index finger comes into contact with. I've tried filing a little shallower but it's still uncomfortable and makes me feel like I'll end up cutting my finger. Other knife makers have…

The rest of the reviews were correct.

weight (steel thickness) doesn't bother. It's normal, it seems important. The handle is a little heavy, but that's okay. But the rear corner of the blade sticks out a lot and I cut myself on it the first day. I have to remember to hold the knife far in front and keep my thumb in front of the sharp corner. You will regret not doing it. The bottom line is I don't use a knife, a $10 waste. I have an update to my old review. I used the grinding wheel attachment on my Dremel tool to hone and smooth…

Sharp blade close at hand. GOOD!

Many reviews mention the sharp point on the underside of the blade near the handle which is considered a hazard. It applies to these users. I just wanted to point out that you shouldn't assume this is a design flaw, but a conscious choice for the market segment that wants and needs it. I found a paring knife and discarded everything there was. *no* this function. I need this because I use this knife; I run the knife over the food to "cut" it - for example when peeling an orange/grapefruit etc…

but not good and not great

Appearance: Blades - The image on Revain is slightly different. The knives I received do not have the notches as deep as the picture on the website. Handles: The handles of the knives shown on the page are more rounded and beveled. Check out the attached photo to see what I mean. The edges that run from front to back on the sides of the top and bottom of the knife are particularly pronounced. In addition, the knife back or foot is more pronounced, thicker or stockier. The heels or butts of the…
