Comparable to Shimano

Jagwire cable assemblies include everything you need to build a new bike or completely replace a cable and body. It's similar to the Shimano case I usually buy, but easier to find in most cases. Cable lugs and cable lugs have the same Shimano quality. It's easy to install and use like you expect.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Non-automatic

Fixed sticky switching on my MTB.

Replaced factory shift cables on my mountain bike. I ran the outer casing to the end point on both the derailleur and rear derailleur. Just as it should be from the factory (many factory shifter cables have exposed areas that allow dirt and water to get in and prevent good shifting). Now my bike shifts like new and I expect it to stay that way much longer than with the original cables.

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Parts were poorly assembled

My "new" kit had some parts already cut and pressed together. I could get it working but whoever crimped the piece ruined the job and the cable will get tied in the housing. My worn case and cables work better. Basically I shorted out a few inches of the case, okay, but also the sealed end cap and the hooded end cap. The product is probably legal, but now it's a great sign for the seller.

Pros
  • Good price
Cons
  • Only available in black

!MISSING COMPONENTS!

Missing 2 sealed plugs, 1 capped plug (one was gold all other plugs are silver), 240mm piece of cable with plugs already installed? It looks like the package has already been opened due to missing the double sided tape that another similar Jagwire kit I got from another seller had. The set had everything this one doesn't have. It is important that all of this works properly.

Pros
  • Nicely packaged
Cons
  • Disappearing

A few end caps are missing. Update: Jagwire helps

Good cables and body color to match the bike which is great but my kit is missing 1 of 2 hooded end caps and 2 of 3 sealed end caps. However, a wire was supplied for a switch other than mine that I didn't need, so I used the hood cap that I needed. Also, Jagwire emailed me and said they would send me what I need, so I'm always fine. Intend to purchase proper brake cables.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some bugs

If you hate reconnecting, buy this!

I don't know why this kit is so expensive but if you hate changing cables every year this is the one you should buy. Why? Simple, they use all quality materials that work, and they're smart enough to include ends that help keep dirt out. You can buy everything you need to replace the derailleur cable for about 1/3 the price, but the quality will be lower, meaning you'll have to change it more often. My time is always more valuable to me, and more importantly, it helps my bikes shift properly.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • So-so

Works best on sport

Replaced front and rear shifter cables with these and now many improvements. Shifting used to be sticky and erratic, but now it's much more precise. Comes with two pointed cables and a single sleeve that fits the front and rear derailleurs on my 56cm road bike with Shimano 105 components. I would recommend getting a cable cutting tool for a clean cut. (That was very reasonable and worked great - https://www.amazon.com/Sales-Deals-Sports/b/?ie=UTF8&node=10805321&ref_=sv_sv_so_sando_4)

  • This is amazing

Probably a good product but not suitable for my bike.

Bought this cable for my 2012 Trek Crossrip bike. Very bad or I don't need the product so I decided to just file the cable end cap so I can get into the switch housing. I was able to do this with one cable but the second wore out of the box. Luckily I didn't need it so I just messed up the cable. I was able to easily install a cable and the settings worked. I don't think I would have bought this project because the end of the cable was too big for my gall, which isn't necessarily a project…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
