Looks believable and straightforward. I'm not a big fan of the magnet on an edge, but I'm sure it has its uses. Nobody, and I mean nobody close to me, wears a 36 inch level. This is a great option if you need one.

Sophisticated, but good. The magnetic strip along the entire length of the edge is very practical. The bubble glass is held in place and does not move. The other side (without the magnet) is cleanly finished and forms a great straight edge. It's light but solid. There is no buyer's regret here.

Well built and seems very accurate compared to other high quality levels I own. While the magnetic strip isn't "heavy," it seems to have enough strength to keep it in place in most situations where it would be useful. I have bubble levels from 8" to 6ft and they are a very useful addition to my collection.

The level I got was NOT a Johnson 3818. First, the level I got wasn't magnetic. It also didn't look like the picture on Revain's or Johnson's website. I mean the 3 foot level is hard to find at your local hardware store or Lowe's. Or any hardware store. I like the magnet on the side, very useful. I also like that there are no missed runs in the level. Most tiers have a 2 inch section that is not in the middle of the tier. I always found it strange. Especially good for drawing a spirit level or plum line. You don't have to worry about getting lost.

I was looking for a decent quality 36" level not made in China and really didn't want to go for a Stabila or Just pay solo. ... I kinda stumbled across this spirit level, which is made in the USA and costs $27. Its lightweight I-beam aluminum body makes it very light and the magnet is strong enough to stick to any ferrous metal. Bubbles are easy to read. I recommend this level to anyone who wants a quality level and doesn't want to support slave labor in China.
