This thing works great once installed. It's strong enough. However, the screws are difficult to turn. Also, they're crosshead hybrids, which, as another reviewer pointed out, make them unsuitable for either screwdriver type - a flat blade is best because you can apply more torque. I was hoping they would accept the square piece but no. If you're dealing with heavy gauge wire (like 12 AWG), you're in for trouble. I bought a cheaper connector for another cable that I was repairing. Boy I wish I'd bought that. I used this to fix the end of a 14G cable. Very nice. Bright enough to see the LED in normal daylight. EDIT: I used them for about six months to fix some of my construction work. Lighted cords are generally useful for figuring out if there's power or if you're still plugged in, down a flight of stairs and around a corner.
