K N 81 0402 Fuel Pump Review

Garbage is my second pump. Loud and never more than 3 pounds of pressure and no volume. I'm sending it back. It took a long time to remove and return. You gotta work to make a living, so I'm stuck with this crap.

Excellent fuel pump. I replaced my old pump because I felt it wasn't pumping enough fuel at higher speeds. The K&N name has a reputation for excellence and quality. Use this product on my 1999 Mercruiser 350 powered boat. I installed a new carburetor but the engine still stalled at 4000 rpm. Replaced the fuel pump and wow great performance of my boat in the last month or so.

Bought because it's K&N and made in the USA because I thought it would be good right? Not correct. When I finished the rest of the car, it was already in front of the window to be returned. The pump is rated at 4-7 psi. I originally had 3psi on startup and figured I could work with that. After a few minutes of idling, the pressure dropped to 1psi, after a short drive to 0psi. 3 amp fuse! Easily connects to a cigarette lighter or 12V outlet. If you use a larger fuse, the pump will overheat and not work. That's why you see others giving bad reviews. When you buy this you will receive a pack of standard sized 3 amp glass fuses for your cigarette lighter socket or an in-line fuse holder with a 3 amp fuse.
