High-performance K&N PF-1000 Fuel Filter - Enhance Your Engine's Efficiency Review

Really cool fuel filter, I installed it and noticed a huge difference in throttle response. I hit the gas pedal and my 2001 Silverado didn't want to get up and leave, now it's revived, I don't leave reviews but it changed my game and increased my mpg. The only thing I have to complain about is the K&N logo is upside down, I know I have OCD, wish it was the right side lol.

Very good fuel filter for my Chevy Tahoe 5.3 V8. Complying with all Chevy safety regulations took about 30 minutes. Watch YouTube or follow the maintenance manual. I used to use Fram in general and chose K&N as I had good experiences with their products before they were of high quality. I am an experienced handyman but this task is relatively easy, just be careful and take your time.

The counter shows an increase of 3-5 hp. You need 13/16 and 5/8. Just make sure you turn off the fuel pump relay, run the engine until it stalls, and open the gas cap. then spray on penetrating oil. Lastly, slowly wiggle it back and forth until it comes loose, make sure you have a fuel drain pan. You will notice horsepower at 20 miles if the fuel filter is bad. But the way the picture isn't true is part of it.

I had to go to the auto zone and take a 16mm adjustable wrench for the installation. First there was a small gas leak. I thought I mixed up the threads, but in fact there was a slight tension on the fuel line that was preventing the filter from seating properly. Removed and reinstalled, fits perfectly. Make sure you unhook the fuel relay. On my S10 Blazer it is to the left of the steering servo which is bolted to the firewall. Unclip the bracket holding your filter in place to insert a new one.

I expected better from a K&N product. the picture is deceptive. The PF-1000 has threaded fittings on both ends and the Rouge seems to fit, although the k&N website says the PF-2500 is the correct part. The downside of this filter was the ease of installation. poorly cut and there was tap residue in the threads which I had to clear. I ordered this fuel filter for a 2002 Chevy 5.3 Flex Fuel SUV. I ordered K&N part number PF-1000. Both the K&N website and Revain said it was the right filter for my application.
